Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I think I saw a post somewhere about using a key to roll down/up the windows. How does this work? Do you hold down the lock button? I know for sure this is disabled on the US cars (although I have seen on the porsche programmer that it can be enabled...) Anyone especially friendly with their service advisor who can find out if they can re-enable this on their US car?

POST 2Original post

Thats correct keep the button pressed after locking, but maybe not such a good idea. some UK Porsche owners have returned to their cars and found both windows fully down after unintentional operation of the key fob (e.g button pressed while in jeans pocket). I rather have this function disabled - IMO its more useful in cars with 4 windows and a sunroof but only if you can't be bothered to return to the car so shut them. Submariner

POST 3Original post

No one in the US has tried to enable this feature by talking with their service advisor?

POST 4Original post

True, but this can get useful, say when you exit the car with someone in it (your kid, etc.) buying groceries, ON A VERY HOT DAY. I still remember summers in Toronto where children, adults and pets die from the interior hitting 40 degress Celcius when the outdoor temp is 30.

POST 5Original post

Yah, exactly! I just brought this up because on my BMW, I've always had the feature of remote window opening (the euro spec cars had remote up as well). So if this is simply a crippling caused by software, I definitely want this feature back.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
