Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
The ride has also worsened but that is due to the fact that the rims are a lot heavier than the original hollow spoke ones on the turbo.
Leading evidence: 'fact' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'fact' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install turbo 2 replica rims' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I fitted my Turbo 2 replica rims with Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes on the car 2 weeks ago.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I use my 996 Targa as a daily driver and am considering buying a set of winter tyres (m+s marked) to go on a spare set of wheels i have.
Has anyone any experience with these tyres? The N marked Pirelli set are £200 more than a mid range Hankook winter tyre and as i am not looking for outright performance just a safer journey and the ability still to drive in snow and sleaty conditions like those that brought GB to its knees last winter i am usure of the merits of each.
Regards Carlos
I've got a set of wintrac extremes coming to put on a spare set of wheels. Be quick though cause it's getting difficult to find winters in larger widths at the moment.

I had noticed the reduced availability of the M+S marked tyres over the last couple of weeks.
I have bitten the bullet and ordered a set of Nokian WR G2 tyres for my spare 17inch wheels, the reports i have looked at suggest they are well suited to British Winter where water and slush is more prevalent than snow. They also outperformed summer tyres in the dry where temp is 7 deg or less.
I am looking forward to having the fastest snow plough in Wales. I will post my experiences as it gets colder and wetter.
I fitted my Turbo 2 replica rims with Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes on the car 2 weeks ago. First impressions are that the steering is not as sharp and the car is more prone to understeer. This would be expected as the tread depth is a lot deeper (between 8-9mm) and the tread blocks would be more prone to movement. The tyres are no more noisy than the Continental SportContact 2. Haven't tried any emergency stops but they are slightly better than the Continentals in straight line aquaplaning. Again, the fact they are new and the Conti's have 7mm of tread probably plays a part.
The ride has also worsened but that is due to the fact that the rims are a lot heavier than the original hollow spoke ones on the turbo. The 10Jx18 replica rim is about 2kg heavier than the 11Jx18 hollow spoke rim.
Will be putting winter tyres on a couple of sets of loan wheels (993/996 & 997) before long, if you are considering a winter set and want to try them beforehand, book a refurb! :bye:
