Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I believe it was only a different DME (the ecu), that allowed a slightly higher boost level, hence more power. There was also a 450bhp upgrade, but I think that was more expensive and had some mechanical parts changed. NB The above are just 'thoughts' not 'facts'..... Guy

POST 2Original post

...Plus oil cooler, as I recall. 9m has some details on his website, look at 993tt tuning. TurboFree has it on his car.

POST 3Original post

The oil cooler was definitely part of the Turbo S package,,,,I am still confused over the 430 & 450 bhp upgrades.I have seen some Turbo S quoted at 430 bhp..I have been fortunate enough to have been a passenger in Paul 944/68 450 bhp Turbo S and it felt like it had more!!!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I managed to find some more info myself. Its option X50 (I think) and was an "exclusive" option which I'm guessing is the old equivalent of tequipment or something. Extra bhp and upgraded intercooler. Now, all I need to do is find a damn car! Much easier said than done.... -Mike.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the 430bhp upgrade on 993TTs that was available. i.e. how it was achieved, any reliabilty issues etc? Thanks in advance, Mike.
