there are things you can do to try and squeeze it through an MOT if you must have 100cell cats eg get it MOTed when fully up to temp use a dose of injector cleaner in the tank of fuel before going for the mot.

I remember hearing a fabspeed supercup exhaust on a 996 and it sounded suburb, however upon going to order one it says for track use and upon messaging design911 the email suggested its track use so might not pass a uk MOT :/

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys with the PSE on my 4s resembling swiss cheese its time for a new exhaust I remember hearing a fabspeed supercup exhaust on a 996 and it sounded suburb, however upon going to order one it says for track use and upon messaging design911 the email suggested its track use so might not pass a uk MOT :/ can anyone say for sure? as it does sound amazing in my opinion but it is a lot to pay for a fail come MOT time....cheers guys

POST 2Original post

Are you retaining your OE cats or if not which cats are you going to use the boxes themselves shouldnt affect the emisions eg MOT failure .but if your putting something like 100 cell cats on it then it wil likely fail an MOT . there are things you can do to try and squeeze it through an MOT if you must have 100cell cats eg get it MOTed when fully up to temp use a dose of injector cleaner in the tank of fuel before going for the mot. but its all a bit of a hassle. There is no sound limit on the UK MOT test all they say is it must not leak and silence effectivly ( far to grey to mean anything) What I think D911 are trying to say is if its too loud you could get pulled for causing a public neausance so their get out is to say not for road use. Like all these things if your driving normally shouldnt be an issue ,if you reving the hell out of it at 10pm in a residentual area expect whats coming  my gen1 exhaust was measured ar 133.9db and I never had any issues, my gen2 exhaust is even louder and never been pulled for it. :thumb:

Cheers Phil, yea just using oem cats, 200 cell cats were planned but i will wait and see the volume before changing them i think. I had a SL55 with a custom built exhaust that was loud as hell, never got pulled but didn't drive like a pleb in built up areas so fingers crossed will be that same with the fabspeed. thanks again
