The one small advantage overnlater PCM systems is that because it has a tape deck, it is quite simple to connect up your phone or iPod etc using a tape to mini phono jack converter things that you can buy anywhere - old technology yes, but it is simple and cheap!

My sat nav didn't work when I bought the car but got the CD drive repaired and got 2011 maps for it.
This is what's in the car already.
It has the Bose system.
Does my car use the MOST fibre optical system or the analogue system?
Are the speakers any good ?
Would like a more modern headunit, with bluetooth and decent navigation.
I already have an Alpine ILX700 which does this and integrates with my phone.

I think that's PCM1 as it has a cassette deck.
Anything is possible, upgrade-wise.
The Bose subs are very low impedance so can be tricky to drive. You might have to google the PCM1 to find out if its MOST (I don't think it is though)
If you're going to install a new amp, you'll be routing RCA/phono cables from your new head unit anyway..
The Bose speakers are ok.. But you get get much better if you spend money. Law of diminishing returns though as the cabin isn't well insulated...

Can't find the button for the English language version of the website on my phone but they do have one

When I have refreshed my suspension and done everything else I need to do to restore the original feel back into my C4S, if I have any money left over, I'll consider the head unit replacement! Until then - the PCM1 is my friend!
