Did a search and picked the cheapest one, bought without test driving and had it delivered 6,550 pounds.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Longtime BMW enthusiast (9 Ms), I finally decided to cross over and just purchased an 04 C2 six speed after months of searching. 50k miles, clean carfax, clean ppi, new tires, really love driving. I am in PCA (wife has Cayenne so we joined in 2014). Hope to do some autorcrosses.
Hey Everybody!
My first post and just wanted to say hello and share a few pics of the new car. Just bought my first Porsche 911. I have always been a racing fan and wanted something for the track and the road. The 911 seemed an excellent choice for this
I purchased an 01 996 from the states. The dealer I used as a broker is going to store it in their showroom for me till spring which is awesome of them. I'm dying to get it on the road haha. I've only ever driven one Porsche so far. My buddy has an 08 Caymen S. Was very pleased from that ride.
Here are a few pics. Hope to take more when the car arrives.
The car has a RUF exhaust, ROW suspension upgrade, ECU upgrade and I believe a short shift kit on it. I wish I knew what the ECU upgrade was but the dealer didn't get the info from the seller apparently. When it arrives I figure I'll take a look and see if it is a replacement unit or just a reflash.
I have been searching and can't seem to find any info on this, I believe I have a Hamann rear wing on the car. My question is, does this rear wing act as a CAI? It has vents on the side of the wing which seem to carry air into the intake trac into the air box. Is this correct? Any info would be great!
Thanks in advance to everybody!

I’ve recently dipped into Porsche ownership too but in completely the opposite way to what you’ve done. A friend and I had a bet (no money involved) that I could buy the cheapest Porsche 911 in the UK (with a basic criteria of manual, coupe, 2 wheel drive) and run to for a year without breaking the bank.
Did a search and picked the cheapest one, bought without test driving and had it delivered 6,550 pounds. A 1998 996 with 147,000 and a full service history. Using it as my daily car so it’s covered in muck because of the recent rain.
I even started a Youtube channel to document it. So after one year I’ll either be saying “everyone go buy a 911 now” or “we’ll that was a dumb idea”. You can search Anca Guya or “I’ve just bought THE cheapest Porsche 911 in the UK!”, it’s actually quite boring so far but maybe I’ll get some interesting contributors in the future
I believe the wing does get air from the outside through the wing inlets. I do like the wing fits the body well and has alittle old school in it. Nice ride enjoy.
Thanks Mother! I agree the wing does add a little bit of the old school whale tail. One of the things that caught my eye when I first saw this car. I always thought the old tail added a unique touch to the 911.

Believe it or not, pretty good! Got some minor broken bits (down in front of the back wheel, it must’ve hit something).
Not enough sun over here to make the plastic brittle I guess 😊 And it’s actually filthy because it’s really muddy around where I live at the moment and I am lazy so haven’t washed it apart from the day I got it (it had moss growing on it)
Brittle isn't my problem, its gummy. The top coating (sort of like plasti-dip) has become soft and sticky. I intend to remove the top coating and as for the center console to have it repainted to match the exterior
I have not done much yet. Replaced the ashtray with the non-smokers bin. I removed the death warnings from the sunvisors and installed new wipers and a new a/c microfilter
Thanks for the compliments guys! Yes the color does seem to be a rare one. From my research I have not seen too many come from the factory with this color.
And thanks vossen. I will give you guys a shout when I'm ready for an upgrade
So I finally picked up my car today! After going though all the red tape b.s. and that really expensive letter from Porsche :S So I have to say this is already my favorite sports car I have ever owned! Love this car for so many reasons! I don't even know where to start. Now I now why all you guys are so Porsche crazy haha. Can't wait for some better driving weather
