Hey all, So Ive had my dension 500 lite installed for the past 3 months and its worked just as I want it to. Great sound combined with the Bose system.
Tonight however I encountered a pretty big hiccup. I went for a drive just to go for a drive. Overall the drive lasted about 60 minutes. Part of the drive I had the windows down enjoying the weather. During this time I left the AC on, not really thinking much of it. This however was the fatal mistake.
45 minutes or so into the drive, when the windows were back up, my dension quits (also killing my speakers since the signal piggy backs)
Finally got home and go into the head unit area to find tons of moisture condensation dripping from the AC vent tubing. Lots of moisture. There were even some drips on the head unit itself.
I have my dension installed just behind the head unit. It fits nicely back there. But I have it oriented with all of the ports facing up, so this whole time condensation was dripping onto the port side of the unit.
I assume this would be chalked up to a "user installation" fault. I would have never thought about this being an issue during the install. What would you all suggest doing? The fuse is still in tact so no issue there. I was thinking of just letting everything dry out tonight and check in the morning. I brought the dension unit inside since it is so humid outside here (currently 80% humidity).
I dont have time this evening to finish checking the system without the dension installed, to make sure everything else is normal. Ill do that in the morning.
You have not had any responses to your post. How did you resolve your issues?
I just had the Dension 500SBT installed. It worked great 1 day. Then it quit all together. Then 2 days later it has worked fine ever since. I live in a humid climate...Louisiana. Always humid here. Always use AC but not with windows down. Where is the condensation normally drained? Robstnr
