Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

My battery died from leaving a radar detector plugged in. So I I got the hood popped and tried to charge the battery to get the key out of the ignition. Nothing. I then took a known good new battery from my roommate and put it in. Still no power. I then rolled it out to jump it from a running car. The cables started to smoke. I pulled them off. Still no power, no dash lights, and the key is still stuck. Buy a new battery matched for my car. Go to install it and when I got to connect the ground it shorts and starts rolling smoke from the starter. The key has came out finally. Put the orig battery in after I charged it out of the car. Still shorts but this time it kicked my washer squirters on and it is just keeping power sent to the starter like its trying to start the car on its own. Ran my durametric with no codes. I can't take it into the dealer bc the rear is removed and I can't put it back together bc I can't power it to pop the rear lid to put it back together. Is there even a safety pop back there?
