I have a 2007 Cayman S, great car...the problem is that I use my iPhone alot for business and I don't like steering the car, shifting the car, paying attention to avoid the dump truck and using the phone. My car has the CDR-24 and Bose stereo....and thus the MOST system. It would be nice to tie in phone and iPod....I'd even go for NAV...I'd even buy a multi function steering wheel...to reach my goal...handless phone calls...speak into some mic (I guess), answer calls....be wonderful if my contacts were accessible in some fashion...and do this in a manner that doesn't chop up the car's wiring/electrical system and thus cancel my nice CPO warranty deal....I have read about Denison, Tooki...various other folks like Kenwood/Alpine/Pioneer....but I always seem to run accross issues. Obviously one could buy a new car (an 09-10) or find a PCM/NAV unit (and be sure its the exact right one and can get all the minor parts)....sounds like that is a $4-5K project....and then of course Porsche seems slow at providing NAV update....so I thought I would throw out this post and hope for simple clear pathway to the future....any help is appreciated.
Do you also drink coffee and eat your meals while driving? ;>)
I could....but then I couldn't steer or shift...which might compound the problem
I gave up trying to get an integrated system at a reasonable price and without hacking into the wiring. I went with a Parrot MiniKit. It works with the iPhone 3GS, the sound is OK and was $100.

There are those solutions but there are also so many examples of talking on the phone even with a hands free device that equate it to drunk driving that I just think if it is important you separate driving and phoning into two events.
Pull off the road and talk pull on the road and drive
is a good thing to think about. Yesterday in Santa Fe a driver in a Toyota SUV remained stopped ten spaces back from a traffic light after everyone else had left a full two minutes earlier while talking into the center of her car. I see stuff like that almost every day and am convinced all of them think they are great at multi-tasking but really aren't. Sorry for the hi-jack but please think about just making one or the other a priority.
I've been looking into a similar solution for my iphone. I ended going the inexpensive route with Motorola t505 (around $60) hands free bluetooth and fm transmitter. I used a Kuda mount to put the iphone next to the stereo (see previous post with pics by astrojeff). Bluetooth works great. I get some complaints about engine noise when in 2nd and 3rd gear. FM transmitter works OK - little bit of static, but I've found one station in my area that works well.
I have the same problem. I really don't need NAV--my phone has that and I won't have to buy updates. So, when I was at the dealer, I asked what they suggested. They had just started adding something called Mobridge the month before my visit--installed on three cars at the time. From looking at the website, it is compatible with the CDR24 for satellite radio and bluetooth. I have no idea how much it costs and need to call. I do know that you don't get the names of song, artist or channels on the CDR24...I think you get the channel--which is all I need. If I talk to them, I'll let you know what I find out.

I had the mobridge installed in my car. I have factory nav but I thinks it works without. Bought the system for $800. It is perfect and works really well. The name of artists , tracks etc all come up on the screen for ipod and the bluetooth function with the Porsche phone utilities is great. Sound is a+ Can even do SMS from the screen.
According to their site: Does mobridge Audio work with the Porsche CDR23 / CDR24?
Absolutely!
mObridge Audio is fully compatible with the Porsche CDR23 and CDR24.
However, because a limitation of these Porsche radios is that they do not support CD-text, so the album/song names are not displayed.
It is possible to exit lockout mode on the iPod to enable browsing via the iPod.
