Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported fix
The way it has worked for me, is that when the "consider remaining range" comes up I use the OBC stalk to clear the message - pull it towards you - the red exclamation mark remains on the tach background - and the mileage counter continues to count down...

+1 that is correct, you can change the main display to whatever you want and then scroll through the second line as before.

I think there was an episode of Top gear where Jeremy had a Jaguar running on 0 miles remaining for about 20 miles or so (can't remember the exact details).

I don't know that I would test its accuracy more than the 2 miles remaining that I did tough - I'm glad a station came into view - I was on Hwy 287 between Wichita Falls and Amarillo TX at the time.

Well, of course, this is when I could use the range countdown the most to Help me "consider remaining range".
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All. To the electronic experts out there:
Once the fuel level on my CS drops to a level which triggers the low fuel light (something like 50 miles range left) the range countdown reverts to "consider remaining range".
Well, of course, this is when I could use the range countdown the most to Help me "consider remaining range".
I know the instrumentation can't guarantee the last few miles, but I've had other cars (i.e. BMWs) that counted down to less than 10 miles - and That was handy.
Does anyone know if it is possible to re-program this to keep counting down to closer to zero miles left? (I apologize if this has been answered in the past). If so - how?
Thanks in advance for any info.
The way it has worked for me, is that when the "consider remaining range" comes up I use the OBC stalk to clear the message - pull it towards you - the red exclamation mark remains on the tach background - and the mileage counter continues to count down... I got it down to 2 miles before finding a gas station one time, so my guess is it's pretty accurate. I don't know that I would test its accuracy more than the 2 miles remaining that I did tough - I'm glad a station came into view - I was on Hwy 287 between Wichita Falls and Amarillo TX at the time.

That warning comes on when you have precisely 10 liters of fuel left. As beez said, pull (I thought it was push) the information stalk and the warning goes away.
I just keep the remaining range showing on gauge all the time anyway... not much use for tire pressures, or avg mph or avg mpg all the time... So after you've pushed the stalk forward and get the red exclamation mark you're still able to see how far you've got left.
Thanks Guys!
So it was a much more basic question than I assumed. Well, as usual, I'd rather risk sounding stupid than remain ignorant. Thanks again!!!
Yeah, when you see that little 'Arrow' under a message, it's asking you to click 'Enter' with the control stick.
This was one of those easy ones.... Despite trying like heck, I couldn't think of any goofy sarcastic jokes to shoot at you... Usually we have a little fun with easy questions like this.
During the Targa Trophy Rally a few weeks ago the other team in a Cayman S had their fuel down to 0 miles... for about 5 miles when a gas station finally came into view. Luckily for them.

I use mine all of the time. I use it as a game to see how I high I can get it. Maybe it stems from owning an Insight for years and trying for the highest MPG I could get.
+1 that is correct, you can change the main display to whatever you want and then scroll through the second line as before. So in mine the main display is akways remaining range and the bottom then what I need, like turbo boost in PSI this weekend on the 997.
Oooohhhh..... It's not often I get to correct beez on something, but I was in my car today and it is in fact 'push the stalk away' to clear a message.
Sorry beez, I couldn't resist.
good info on the top line of the display... I listen to my iPod much of the time thru an FM transmitter... so displaying 88.1 all of the time is absolutely useless.. thx JT
I am constantly amazed. Had the car for two years and still learning new things about it - display dual lines of info on the cluster.... On the consider remaining range - I have found the gas guage to be very accurate so don't assume you have any margin to play with!
