Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Please be so kind as to help me with a technical problem. The central odometer sometimes switches itself off for no reason. See attached photo. When switching the on/off on board computer control arm, off and then on again, the screen recovers. If the vehicle is locked and then reopened by means of the remote control, the odometer once again appears. It is clear that the recording is still running even when the screen is dark. What could be causing the screen to suddenly go dark?

POST 2Original post

That moving the OBC stalk resurrects the display suggests the problem lies with the OBC stalk/electrical contacts. The next possible explanation but way down on the plausible list: Goofy ignition switches account for various electrical behavior. You can try to wiggle the key a bit to see if the switch might be at fault. It doesn't "feel" like an ignition switch though. Also, whenever you wiggle the key with the engine running avoid of course accidently switching the key to engine start. If none of above, if no one else has a better suggestion, the car is possessed by spirits. Sincerely, Macster.
