Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ordered the ProClip mount last Thursday, it arrived Saturday and in less that 5 minutes it was installed (even I can do it).

I used a combination of two products...ProCLip for the dash mounting...and RAM holder from Ram Mounts.com (UNPKD RAM HOLDER FOR APPLE IPOD TOUCH Product Number: RAM-HOL-AP4U) to hold the unit...if you look closely, it is a very clean install...

the problem with many of these solutions is that they don't have a clean looking dock connector built in.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking for a good place to put an iphone, BUT it has to be clean. I am not interested in something that is not aesthetic or factory looking. The only option I can see is something that is either easily removable or something like this...
Amazon.com: Arkon IPM125 15-Inch Flexible Seat Bolt Floor Mount for iPhone (Black): Cell Phones & Service
I could not easily find the passenger seat bolt, I think it is covered by some plastic piece. I was thinking that would be able to "tucked" underneath the seat in the event I don't want a gaudy looking thing sticking out.
Has anyone tried this or have better ideas?
Another place to look is
ProClip Mounting System - Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts
.
Lots of options and one I use for my Garmin (see my gallery).
+1 for the ProClip mount - it is a clean, secure and reversible mount (the retaining tabs basically slip between the console seams). If you choose the left upper mount, (as opposed to the angled right lower console mount) you can get a pretty reliable GPS signal on your iPhone as well. The only downside is that it partially obstructs the air vent there.
That is an interesting option. How difficult would it be to remove and would constant removal/installation create wear at the seam?
I like it, but it is still a little more obtrusive than I am thinking.
Zero problem to remove although after living with it I doubt that you will even notice it. It is solid and easy to rotate to your required viewing angle...and inexpensive if you decide it isn't for you. Again it is an option to consider.
As long as I don't do any damage to the seam, then I think that may be the option to go for. You know, sometimes you just want a nice clean look. I have already have the MotoT505, a V1, and now this...a little too gadgety looking after a while. But it does look quite nice in the end.
Here is one more option. Just have to mount the base "somwhere" and the flexible wire easily screws in and out, leaving you with just the base exposed. I was thinking about using the suction cups to mount to the side of the console (plastic part), or maybe even the adhesive pad for mounting.
Amazon.com: PED3-Auto Rotating Car Mount for iPhone (Original, 3G, 3G S): Electronics
the problem with many of these solutions is that they don't have a clean looking dock connector built in. so you can put your iphone there but it may get low on juice.
a really good looking solution is supposedly coming any day from tom-tom.
http://iphone.tomtom.com/en-us/
i suppose it could be used even if you are not interested in running their gps app (which is already available and got some good reviews). i'm waiting for it to ship and will get one to try it out.
Actually, many of them, including those by pro clip, do have the ability to charge as well. Even those that don't have it natively built in can still be charged by manually plugging it in.
What I don't like about the Tom Tom, aside from the added expense due to features I don't need, is that it is window mount. Take some pictures and I'd like to see how it looks, but I wouldn't think the window mount would look too clean or be particularly ergonomic.
That looks like a nice mount, the only problem I would forsee, is that if you mount it low in the center of the windshield, it will be a little hard to see and reach for other iPhone functions.
You could mount it in the left corner where it would be less obtrusive and easier to reach, but then you'd have more trouble routing the power cord.
I ordered the ProClip mount last Thursday, it arrived Saturday and in less that 5 minutes it was installed (even I can do it). Great service from the the ProClip staff. I ordered the holder with the built in charger and everything works great, including my lap timing app.
About that proclip with the built in charger, can you remove the obnoxious label? Also, can you tuck the cord towards the back so it is not so obvious when it comes down? I wish they would make those things with better cable aesthetics in mind.
Which lap timign app do you use? I find mine lackign accuracy. Every lap differs quite a bit in distance, therefore I am having a hard time believing the times as well.

Both parts came to about $40.00...mail ordered; received in 3 days...
Tomasz:
I currently have Harry's Lap Timer down loaded on my Iphone; which I will try this Saturday at Roebling. Since it was only $6 I figure if it doesn't work to my liking I will download one of the others for Sunday.
