Anyone know if anywhere has
eibach lowering springs
part 7218.140 ?
I was originally panning to go with techarts but hesitant to do so, since it lowers the rear less than the fronts.
Ive been calling up all the shops and warehouses and no one seems to have them in stock...
Any thoughts on eibachs vs techart springs?
Curious, why aren't you considering H&R lowering springs? I like mine.
This past spring I was researching lowering springs and decided to go with the Eibachs. I called around the country and not one place had them in stock. After asking one of the sales staff why, they did a little research and found out
Eibach
stopped making springs for the 987
Boxster
.
I subsequently went with H&R springs and am very pleased.
How are they on the streets? Are they too stiff? Does your spouse complain about them?
I have eibachs on my BS - they are great; not too stiff and certainly not soft/floaty. I DE my car, just drove 1600miles (with fiancee) RT from S.FL to NC & back, and plenty of twisties. They were great.
Do a search for one of my posts on post your ride height to get a sense of what the drops are between different springs.
Yea i hear that h&r is on a bit stiff side..
I also do not want to go more than 1.25 inches..
Sad to say the springs i am looking for is so tough to come by.
Shops say it will b ok to put on
cayman
eibachs but eibachs themselves tell me they havent done it before....
Any ideas? I really want to go with eibachs and if not techarts are my second choice..
(deleted) Just realized what you meant RE:
Cayman
Eibachs.
If you can't get a hold of Eibachs, try H&R's (made in the Fatherland
) - you'll be pleased. Don't have personal experience with TechArts though.
I have the
Eibach
's, love them
I have Cargraphic springs (H&R). They are noticeably stiffer than my stock non-
PASM
springs. As for having a wheel gap, sadly there are no options that lower the car completely flush with the tire. Their H&R's have a larger gap in front than the rear (about 2 finger's gap in the rear and 3.5 finger's gap in the front). The only way to go completely flush with the tire would be coilovers. I do wish they went a little lower, especially in the front. Aside from what many think, I think the front overhang of this car is relatively high. As for the stiffness for H&R's, I do not mind it, even with 19" wheels, but others have commented about it once I gave them a ride.
Thanks killer croc!! I saw the pm.
I couldnt find the one for the
boxster
though...
I hope we find one
I currently have the forgestar 19's with
Offset 8.5 - 46 front
10 - 35 rear
What would be a good spacer (if i need any) if i go with h&r vs techart?
Ebay has em.
what do they mean about the 3mm isolator pads?
EIBACH PRO-KIT LOWERING SPORT SPRINGS SET 06-12 PORSCHE CAYMAN S 1.2" DROP | eBay
I noticed on the
Eibach
website that they list springs for the 987
Cayman
, but not specifically for the
Boxster
. Is there any reason why they wouldn't work? I have a 2010
Boxster S
and I'm looking to lower the car while minimizing the harshness that many people report from the H&R's. Again, trying to confirm whether the
Cayman
springs will work on the
Boxster
...
Thanks in advance!
I think they are referring to compensating plates - In the
Porsche
PET front suspension (item 5) shows 2 part numbers - two thicknesses 3 mm and 6.5 mm. I am still trying to find out if they are also used on rear stock suspension. My car looks like maybe they are. I am planning on pulling them out this week with new springs going in.
Nice! I was looking for the 3mm part numbers. Search FTW!
