Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My driver window is acting up. It stops too far up and is causing a problem with the door closing as it is not fitting under the seal. I thought it was a problem with the position and could be adjusted. But, dealer is saying the door latch mechanism is bad and throwing errors. Needs to be replaced. I believe the dealer but am a little skeptical as the problem started after my son was playing with the window buttons. How difficult is this repair for DIY? Best location for parts? How do I know what I need? Dealer also claims that both window regulators are making noise. Should these be replaced? Difficult? Just need advice on how to move forward.

Welcome to my world, LOL. My passanger regulator just went or is going as of yesterday afternoon @ 55k miles. My buddy just had both his replaced at 64k cost him about $250 for regulators (aftermarket) and about 2hrs labor from indy to install.
