Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I assumed it would reset when I stopeed and restarted the car...WRONG!!!!!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, Im a newbie but Ive searched the forums and cant find anyone suffering the same wierd simptoms as me with this godforsaken head unit!!!
I have a 2002 C4 fitted with the CDR23 (MOST) and the BOSE upgrade. Over the weekend, I put a cd in the tray and it played OK. When I pressed the "Menue" button, nothing happened (expected the menu to change to track number) but the unit kept playing the CD. I assumed it would reset when I stopeed and restarted the car...WRONG!!!!!
When I turn the key, the stereo lights up with "Porsche" on the display, makes some whirring noises, swtiches itself off and restarts. Even if I manually press the on/off button, it restarts itself but alwasy repeats the cycle above. So not only do I have no tunes, I have to listen to this thing constantly whirring...
Ive checked the fuses. Ive tried the door lock/unlock reset. Ive had the CD changer and AMP out and checked that the fibre optics are moving the light about properly but all looks OK.
Anyone got any ideas before I call the dealer ?
Update - took the head unit, cd changer and amp out and re-checked the fibre optics....dont know how I missed it the first time but the light from the fibre optic is going into the amp but isnt coming out again.
Im assuming that the MOST ring runs in the following order : Head Unit to amp to changer and back to head unit....is this correct?
Follow up question - the main fuse to the amp is OK. Is there another fuse somewhere for the amp power ?
ANy help appreciated.
Kev
Another update if anyones there.......
Removed the amp and theres power getting to the AMP so its not fuses etc.
I joined the 2 ends of the fibre optic cable together with some tape and the head unit came on as it should.
So Im guessing the amp has blown but I dont know anything about amps so I might be wrong....
Original symptoms from the head unit seem to have been due to an inability to complete the MOST ring so it just kept trying....
Anyone got a BOSE amp for sale? The Porsche part number on mine is 996.645.333.02.....
Cheers
