Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Hi,
After years of owning BMW's I decided to try a 911 turbo. The one I'm looking at is an 06 plate 911 turbo.
http://www.asmperformance.co.uk/used/porsche/911/3...
Just wanted to know what to look at for? The car has had 6 previous owners and the last service was done by a specialist instead.
I'm p/ex my 2012 M5. Please, as this is my first Porsche I wanted to know what to look at for.
I've recently bought a 2010 997.2 PDK turbo
Was going to buy a late 2009 997.1 manual car however ASM bought both cars prior to me getting the funds in place and readvertised the cars with a £6k premium. Do the currently have the 09 plate red car and 59plate black car in stock for £59995?
Decided to buy a 997.2 car in the end however they are £20k + more that the car your looking at.
My advice for your budget would be to get a manual car, Also all the advice you need is on
www.911uk.com
Be patient and search for the right car with manual gearbox.
Best of luck with the search

Thanks for the advise but I don't want a manual car. My bad leg wouldn't allow it.
Fair enough, would you budget stretch to £65k for a gen 2 PDK car, as these are superb and certainly the best
My p/ex for my M5 is £38 plus £5k cash. That's really the Max I can go.
The car is up for £45k but I've told him the max I can pay him on top plus my car is £5k and he's accepted.
Can't really find another £20k for a PDK newer car.

Not sure what your M5 is actually work.
However £43k for a 997.1 turbo in the current climate sounds reasonable.
Does the car come with warranty. If it passes the porsche 111 check you could get 12 months Porsche OPC warranty for around £1020. Available until the car is 10 years old
Have you viewed and driven the car yet?
As I previously said gave a look on
www.911uk.com
for some purchasing advise and things to look out for.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't believe it comes with any Porsche warranty. I'm going to view the car tomorrow. How do I get the 111 check done?

6 previous owners in 9 years !! Sorry, I'll pass on that one thanks.
I know, but most have about 4-5 owners so six in 9 years is not that bad.

Contact your nearest OPC to arrange it.

Defo get the Porsche warranty. Bills on these can be eye wateringly expensive

And I doubt the OPC will warranty it if their non Porsche items fitted, unless you pay to replace them, battery, brakes, tyres, etc so might be a waste of a 111 point check if you know it'll cost you a few hundred extra to put it 'right'

Yeah. I thought this would be the case. I'm off to see the car tomorrow, then I'll decide. Thanks

3 months ago went from M6 to 997.1 manual, but previous owner put it through the 111 point check and added Porsche warranty as conditional part of sale. The warranty is transferable.
So Beemerman, did you buy the car?
Did he have the 09 plate red 997.1 turbo with aero kit and 59plate black 997.1 turbo with aero kit for £60k in stock today as they have disappeared off his website.

Very good point
The car in the OP's post looks nice but what an appalling advert, how many times can you fit 'full service history' in an add!!!, think I understood it the first time, mind you it doesn't detail who has serviced it and at what intervals.
Like many others on here, my oil/filter are changed religiously every 12 months so, I could mine has a full and excessive service history ha ha

Hi,
I did go to see the car, but it wasn't for me.I probably will be going for a GTR instead. The 06 turbo was the only turbo they had.

The GTR is a great car.
Used to have one, if you need any advice give me a shout.

Yes I did drive it and it was very nice but a bit dated compared to my 2012 M5 also the M5 was faster to me. After driving the 911 I got back into my M5 and felt right at home in my car.
Yeah the GTR is an itch I want to scratch.

Sound as if you need to keep the M5.
I've driven numerous F10 M5s and they are a great car.
I'll just warn you now, if your budget won't stretch to £50k+ for a MY11 Onwards GTR, your going to extremely disappointed by the interior of the MY09 and MY10 cars. They now look extremely cheap and dated

I think you're right. Going to save for a little while longer and then either go for a PDK 911 turbo or a MY12 GTR.
