Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello I have 996 3.4 2000 I was one unhappy with broken engine. I'm looking forward to getting back to my car after five long months. This week I'll be by the new engine rebuilt Porsche warranty of 2 years. - My question is, if this engine is reliable and can finally sleep at night? - This car now has 100,000 miles, which should be repair the transmission? - What should I pay attention during the repair process? Sorry for my english Thanks

POST 2Original post

I guess you answered your own question. As far as the engine goes, you can finally sleep at night, as you have a 2 year warranty. As for the the rest of the car, I guess it is no better or worse than any other used Porsche.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know i have 2 years peace.. But my question is, these engines are more reliable than the original? There are fragility´s in this of engines?

POST 4Original post

Engine should be more reliable now, compared to same year and model, which evidently were more prone to engine failure, that the Mk2 is/was. But "I'm looking forward to getting back to my car after five long months." 5 months?? What took them so long?

POST 5Original post

I think any improvement is academic. It's not like every other engine blew up. The fact is, even without improvements in manaufacturing or component quality, the total lifetime statistics for failure are very small (a lot less than 1%, approaching <0.05% on the 997 @ 5 years). In that sense, buy a lottery ticket instead. The chances of you experiencing two engine failures in your ownership are very small. Between 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 4 million (the latter assuming you have both cars for less than 5 years).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have car 14 months, 5 these months waiting for conditions to repair.. Thanks
