Hi All-
I was wondering if anyone has information on the process required to install grill mesh for the front bumper intake areas. This exposed area is a real problem because of potential damage to the radiator fins and also for the accumulation of trash in the far recesses (back corner).
I do not believe there is any article on this particular upgrade and it would be nice to know what it takes to accomplish this. There are several individuals who have done this on their vehicles but I do not recall seeing any documentation on how this is done.
When you have a chance you might want to use a flashlight to see the back corner of your front bumper intake area and see how much trash you have already collected back there. I would like to install grill mesh but I don't know how large scale a task I'm looking at. Thus I'm looking to the forum members for some guidance based on their experiences.
Thanks,
I asked a similar question earlier. You have to remove the front bumper for easy access to the left and right grill under the foglight. Its going to be a lot of work, looks pretty easy from the article. But time consuming for sure!

I have installed front mesh (left, center, and right) on my CS, and two others locally --one of which has Tiptronic (and a real radiator in the center). Front "bumper" needs to be removed, and there are some tricks to doing that, especially if you have the headlight washers. Good news is you do not need any special tools (other than T25 and T 30 torx drivers), and you do not need ramps or jackstands--contrary to what the otherwise excellent bumper-removal article states. You need to make templates for cutting the grill mesh material--left and right, and center, which is very time consuming. But, if you ask nice, I might just mail them to you, or even the cut out mesh ready to install--but we would need to talk about what type of mesh and the costs involved. Mesh Installation into the bumper is very easy using 8 small cable ties per side for the left and right. Center section is installed without bumper removal using clear silicone. Many types of grill mesh can be purchased from customcargrills.com . All of the mesh we did on the three cars were with the hexagon grill mesh XXL in black powdercoat. The three cars are black, white, and mine is arctic silver, and the grill mesh really does look great and protects the radiators. We also changed the fog light spears to matt black, replacing body color--avaiable from Sunporsche--site sponsor. Anyone wanting more info can P-mail me. If anyone wants to come to Columbus Ohio (GO BUCKS!) I might be bribed out of retirement and install it for you--about 2 1/2 hours. Also installed grill mesh on side vents, and in the rear diffuser--there are "how to" articles on these easier projects.
