Highly doubt any Porsches ever intentionally changed seating position based on speed.

A Porsche mechanic told me that some Porsches track the eye of the driver and adjust so that they always see over the dash.

Sounds like it's going to "comfort" setting for easy in/out, at 75 mph instead of 0.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought this was common until talking to some folks at the PCA event, and of course, maybe Im crazy. I swear when my 996.2 (sonderwunsch with so many options) when I accel past 75mph, the driver seat tilts forward. A Porsche mechanic told me that some Porsches track the eye of the driver and adjust so that they always see over the dash. Anyone else have a moving seat?

POST 2Original post

My seat only moves when I use the main key because the memory is set to PO settings and I cant change them lol....Never heard of what you are saying or seen this on the posts

POST 3Original post

If your seat moves once at speed in gear without you manipulating the seat controls, something is amiss.. Can imagine taking a high speed tight sweeper at 9/10's while tip-toeing at the point of adhesion, when the seat all of a sudden pushes me forward along with the steering wheel....whoops.....

POST 4Original post

Eye tracking was a Mission E thing, dunno if it was implemented in any production cars. Changed size of digital instruments IIRC. Sounded gimmicky. Highly doubt any Porsches ever intentionally changed seating position based on speed. That seems unnecessary and unsafe.

POST 5Original post

That is an odd one. I wonder if your "up at 75mph" spoiler is somehow shorted with your seat motor? Try the manual switch on the fuse box and see if it happens. Also try removing the spolier fuse and drive it, in case it's not switch related.

POST 6Original post

Sounds like it's going to "comfort" setting for easy in/out, at 75 mph instead of 0.
