Was surprised to see that they 'expire' in 2020; obviously I realise they don't last forever, and that for an item like this safety is everything, but a little miffed that I'll only get 3.5 years out of them (occaisional track use) until I'm sure Porsche will insist they are replaced to maintain the warranty....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally had the harnesses fitted to my GT4 Was surprised to see that they 'expire' in 2020; obviously I realise they don't last forever, and that for an item like this safety is everything, but a little miffed that I'll only get 3.5 years out of them (occaisional track use) until I'm sure Porsche will insist they are replaced to maintain the warranty....

POST 2Original post

The expire date is only for FIA racing regs. Makes no difference for track days and doubt the OPC will care about them for any warranty. For the odd road use and TD's they wont suddenly fall apart and become unusable in 2020 ETA. My 997.1 RS still has the original harness fitted. They have been used so little they look like new.
