Yep, that's why I'll consider it again in 6 months time, as it will be my last change of car, and it will be the one that I run into the ground seeing me well into retirement, which is only 4/5 years away.

Contemplating ordering a facelift GTS Macan and wondered if anyone else was in the same boat?
Any ideas when the new model is going to arrive and the configurator will change?
Price increase with new model?
Likely delivery times?
The new model is due 2022 model. You can get delivery in October 2021 but I’ve ordered mine for delivery in Jan 2022.
The GTS has replaced the turbo.

I put down a deposit but not sure about the dates yet, nothing concrete from the dealer, Clive where is this info coming from? Thanks.
Similar to other responses.
Friend placed a GTS order early April, expected delivery late 2021.
Spoke to same OPC last week as my Dad fancies upgrading his Macan 2.0 to GTS. Any Macan orders placed since March this year will be for facelifted model. Facelift model due approx October, on Configurator sometime in the summer. “Early 2022” was best the OPC could offer for my Dads order. I see online, and by the OPC that it was being referred to as the Macan Gen 3.

We will be ordering a GTS (our first Porsche) to replace our current car but won't need it until summer 2022. When should I approach dealers?
Given the year we’re having I’d say ask now. Get a deposit down and ask if you can defer the build slot if it comes up earlier than you want.
I was in my local dealer on Friday, tried out a current base 2 litre ahead of going back with family to try an S when they could get one (not buying a car without making sure it doesn't make my son puke or wife generally unhappy).
Only info offered was a facelift is coming, power is up on all engines, they want £1k now to get me in the queue for a car, they said not to bother trying out the current S and wait for facelift to be there for me to try.
On the test drive bit, is this normal level of helpfulness for Porsche or best to try another dealer? The attitude seems a bit 'take it or leave it' overally.
Interestingly my local BMW dealer were bending over backwards to help. I was actually ready to order an X3 M40i but supply issues meant we had another look around (deal on table strong enough to not bother waiting for facelift but some key options like comfort entry and audio upgrade can't be met and no indication when the supply issues might be resolved).

Sorry cannot comment to much on the take it or leave it attitude, although I felt this with one Porsche dealership but not the one I will probably purchase from.
I am just more aware of a BMW dealership bending over backwards to help. Found this when I purchased my M4. Excellent service, great price , great discount, but then when we you come to sell the depreciation is on another level. I would persevere and give them another opportunity. Far better car, cost more but you wont feel the pain BMW drivers have when it comes to trade one in.
The Macan 3 will be on configurator some time July. The Turbo name is being dropped meantime (I suspect it will reappear when the electric car appears in 2023). Instead the Macan 3 GTS is getting the Turbo power plant/output. No idea in pricing yet, although I suspect the GTS will jump a fair bit given the power hike.
My local OPC has a full order book for Macan 3 till year end.

Interesting, I find my OPC a great place to visit. Friendly knowledgeable service, no pressure to buy or load the car with expensive crap you won’t use, can’t be more helpful in many ways, test drives not a problem etc. Whereas in the main BMW dealers are frankly awful. Phone calls very seldom returned, pressure on to buy whenever you walk in and generally just very little interest in providing a half decent buying experience.
I’ve had over night / weekend loans of cars from OPC colchester + Mercedes Colchester (both Jardine Lancaster group) and BMW/ Alpina Harold Wood. I enquire politely and explain it is important to me and my wife to make an informed purchase decision. The absolute minimum I’d except is half a day loan. If the dealer can’t do that for a potential buyer then I enquire elsewhere.
Honestly BMW were superb (Sytner Harold Wood too), the specific salesperson I dealt with was outstanding. Loads of help, as much time as needed, nothing was too much trouble.
I've gone out to an alternative Porsche dealer, run by the same group as the BMW garage, let's see if they are a bit less laissez-faire.

Anyone been told anything about when the electric Macan is coming ?
Porsche Centre Leicester called me yesterday (I contacted my work corporate supplier, he got them to call).
He said new model / electric should be 2023.
I have seen rumours elsewhere the Macan will be electric only from them but they couldn't confirm.

I placed a deposit a few weeks ago. Dealer said they were expecting 3 cars a month from late Sept. they already had about 10 orders which was fine as anytime in Q1 2022 would suit me for delivery.
At present the centre console is loaded with switches ,by the look of spyshots i think most will be moved to the info system
Vag are having a nightmare with problems with their systems , im going to wait to see how all this pans out , maybe they will move some back to physical switches like they did on the 992 as too complex to make quick changes.
From my understanding deliveries will start in October/ November and if i had put my £3k deposit down 4 weeks ago id expect it in the summer.
It seems the configurator always seems available online in the USA before uk so keep an eye on that.

Autocar suggest otherwise - "Set for launch in 2023, the Macan EV will share its PPE architecture with the similarly sized Audi Q6 E-tron,
and will be sold alongside the petrol-powered Macan,
which itself is due to receive a mid-life facelift later this year."

Placed my deposit a few weeks ago for a facelift GTS, was told it is getting turbo power, possibly 21s as standard, new colours, haptic dash and new bumpers as seen in spy shots.
20th of July for the configurator he thought.
There is 4 ahead of me in the queue at Preston OPC for them so I should hopefully get one this year.
Chester had 9 in the queue, Wilmslow said spring next year.
Sold my S via wizzle, which is now in Bournemouth OPC for more than I paid for it new.

Sorry, not very clear I lost 4k over 21 months on the S from new. OPC bournemouth that bought it are now advertising over list.
OPC think £1500-2k rise

As I said, cracking result.
If the new GTS has Turbo power and a small rise of say £2K I will be very pleasantly surprised. Will potentially sell like hot cakes!
My Mrs has a deposit down on a facelift. This was in April just after reopening and they said she would be getting one of the first allocations in Q3.
They told her the engines were not changing though. I suspect nobody knows for sure at this stage.
The one thing I suspect they got right was the switch to the touch-info system.

I popped into Porsche Silverstone end of April, as was passing, and they'd not long reopened, to see about possibility of getting a new pre-facelift Macan order, as suspected face-lift would be removing the physical buttons.
Was told no way to get a free-production slot before factory close down for the change to face lift in August.
They couldn't confirm that the change to heptic touch info panels though, said they hadn't been told that, although guy said, that personally his view was that would likely be true.
He did confirm the dropping of the Turbo model, with the GTS getting the turbo running gear instead, and the S model being upped to current GTS engine spec. He did say some options would now be standard rather than extra cost, I think heated front seats would now be one of the standard spec items?
So, the GTS is going to a 10% price hike, that’s disappointing to be honest.
I wonder where they will pitch the S price wise, as if you look at the torque figures for it (only 22lb ft less than GTS) I do suspect that’s maybe going to be the sweet spot on the Macan 3?

I would agree.
If I still contemplate it later in the year.......it will be an S for me. Obviously, price and options availability dependent...and so on and so forth etc.,etc.
My problem is I've got used to 35mpg average for the past 4 years......and with still uncertainty over annual mileage because of continuing WFH or not depending on Covid, I would be stuffed if I have to start contemplating 500-600 miles week commutes again......
I'll park the bus for 6 months and then see what the situation is like come end of year.
Interesting to read also that it will be sold along side the ev version until the restrictive euro 7 emmissions come into force around 25/26.
It will cease production get it while you can springs to mind?
I wonder if they will do a special final ice edition?

Sounds like the GTS has a touch of that about it, although I suspect they will likely release a GTS performance pack (with more power) or similar towards end of production

The heated front seats are already standard.
Rear heated seats are extra.
I pick my GTS up in a couple of days so getting excited and was lucky to avoid the delays.
After the phone call i've just had with Leicester Service Department i'm not buying another new vehicle from them ever again.
I can't believe how a pretty good sales and service centre a few years ago can go that s
t but i guess that's what happens when companies like Sytner get involved, company mantra appears to be do as little work as possible, rip the customer off and also assume he's retarded and will gratefully come back for more.
Do you guys expect strong residuals of the facelift given the electric Macan looming?
Booked in with my local OPC to discuss the facelift and potential order.

I'd be stunned if it isn't equally as strong as the outgoing model.

Having read the initial reviews and bearing in mind the Mark 3 GTS will have Turbo BHP then I’d expect it to become pretty sought out and highly desirable in years to come.
Order put in for a GTS today - looking at today's spec on an S with the options we picked made sense picking a GTS instead.
If it goes up £6k we might have to amend the order for an S (unless by coincidence it includes the options we then wanted to add to a GTS) - hopefully will get config and prices soon enough to be able to make a call on that.
Dealer said there are a good half a dozen GTS orders in already with a couple of S.

Welcome to give Porsche Norwich a try....
Had the misfortune of going through Knightsbridge earlier, where one can witness pretty much every SUV on the market, and I must say, the Macan GTS and saw a Macan Turbo too, stood out as the nicest looking of them all. First time I have ever seen a Macan (I don't get out much, and when I do i haven't clocked a Macan before)
As a cayman R owner it made me think if I ever decide an SUV is for me, the Macan would be it....what a stunning looking motor when specced well.
Reading have orders into double figures already, good news is there will be a few more gen2 models up for sale.
A well specced gts will be touching £90k by the sound of it?

I am going into there in August - I don't need the car until next June but was advised to come in early - I am guessing they are anticipating long wait times.

That's way too much. ~ £75k
A gts is that now if you dont go mad, with the expected hike of £8k it will be close.

To blow £90K I think you’d have to go pretty mad and tick every box. For me, I’m hoping to keep mine at £70K. Some cheap essentials like heated steering wheel, quick clear screen, privacy, reverse camera, plus chrono and a pan roof. It’s got air suspension and sport exhaust/seats as standard anyway I understand. So, that gives me Turbo power, better handling and a liveable spec all for the price of a basic Macan 2 Turbo…..
Anyone heard any more news on the facelift?
I have seen shots of the electric one and the centre console looks huge with the drivers leg pressed right up against it. Test driving the outgoing model it only just had enough room for my left leg (sit weirdly due to and injury, not built like a tank).

Nope and still waiting for the configurator to be updated. I suppose there are still 12 days left in July!

And yet there has been a change to the configurator (maybe not intentional though?) as Mama Green disappeared from the available colour option for the S about 2 months ago, but still shows for the Turbo...?
Looking at the PH lead article there seems to be a much wider price gap between the standard and the S than there was previously. It has gone from approx £2.5k to around £6k.
Will be interesting to see if there's any additional equipment (other than wheel size) to explain the increased difference. Edit - I note the S gets PASM as standard.

I spec-ed my pre facelift GTS to £68k.
This new one starts at over £64k. Hope that includes a lot of the kit as standard. There’s also a pack available which includes some of the options in my original config. Looks like I’d need to spec that too.
Love the new nip/tuck look and Papaya is stunning as are the new wheels. Though doubt I’d be brave enough.
Configurator still not updated yet.
Configurator up. Got to £70k without finishing, ran out of time, looks like I'll be adding all the same stuff and it'll be well into 70s.
Not sure about big black plastic front on GTS. May have to check an S against it later, only reason we went for GTS is with our options on an S it was barely much more. This looks lots more.
Still have consideration of big centre console. It looks sculpted for legs but chunky still.
Edited by boombang on Tuesday 20th July 10:34
Loaded my old £67k pre facelift GTS config and retained options. Took price to over £72k.
Going to start from scratch to see if I can get that down.
If not, hoping GFV has gone up proportionately.
Well, still hovering around £74k with GTS Sports package, slightly less without. Forced into Python green interior and poor selection of exterior colours. Now up to £77k, £10k more than before. Madness. Stick with the Emira.
Anyone else notice factory collection available? Or has it always been there?

Collapsible spare wheel £245 can only be ordered with Surface Coated Brakes at £ 2105 Why ???
Because it's a Porsche and they can......why does Python Green cost over £7k???? Same answer.....

WLTP probably
Yep, probably why the 19" wheel option for the S has now gone and you can only have ghastly blingly 20" ones, and plus the reduction on interior colour choices with removal of the high grade leather option, and I think I'm out.
For me though, an S close to spec of a one I did an online build on back in Jan this year is hardly any more expensive.
I also wondered if leather steering column is now standard on extended leather option on the S as its not listed as an option anymore if you tick extended leather, and it was before.
The Paypaya Orange would have been great had they kept the Expresso leather option.......
Oh well.......looks like I'll be keeping what I have now until it dies, no more car change for me.
Being purely selfish I'm just pleased that Shark Blue isn't an option on the face lift as I'm not ready to get out of my Voodoo Blue Macan just yet. I checked the Shark sample plate against mine at my local OPC last week and while I think Shark is a bit lighter it is very similar.
iPhone picture doesn't show much difference.
For me the darker colours work better on the car and also help not to highlight the contrast with the big black front “mouth”. Re pricing, I actually think a relatively lightly optioned GTS is not a bad deal V the outgoing Turbo. Similar price with some creature comforts plus I suspect it will dynamically be better
Looks like an S with options we want would be a~£4k price rise.
We actually put a deposit (i.e. no commitment pre-order) on a GTS as that was only a couple of thousand more pre-facelift. That GTS has a price rise of ~£3.5k but with the options we now think we want it's a £72k car. IMHO it isn't a £72k car.

Car prices are irrelevant because of pcp,s
Its definitely £25k better than a Kia or Golf?
Yup agree better than any Golf and by £25k probably depending on what you want of a car.
For me I am not sure it is better than an Emira and a Soul EV on business lease/salary sacrifice though.
With regards PCP it has been a while since last did one, but my experience of them has been nothing down, 0% and a couple hundred a month. Sure the illustration I saw on the pre-facelift GTS was £15k+ down, 5%+, and many hundreds per month.
If got one I would be running it for well beyond the life of a PCP so it is less relevant when you need to front a chunk of deposit and a balloon.

There's two collapsible spares available - 18" and 19".
18" is for cars with standard brakes, 19" for PSCB/PCCB.

Ahh ! So even with 19 inch whels you can run an 18 inch spare-I assume that the rolling radius is the same then ?
Yes the temporary spare wheel size is driven purely by brakes.
The circumference of it is the same regardless of 18 or 19" or what wheels are fitted to the car.

Which means my 18 inch winters will be fine on new car

Yes they should fit (unless it's a GTS).
The new Macan S brake size is the same as the outgoing model.
I ordered a Macan for my wife back in February, May delivery. Needless to say it still hasn't arrived, and the dealer has no idea when it will. Best guess according to the Porsche order system is October! Now, if it does ever materialise, will it be the old model or the new one!? This is my first foray into Porsche ownership, I'm less than impressed!

Depends if its been built or not at this moment in time.
Given the last previous gen models (as you ordered) will probably be rolling down the production line next week prior to the production line switch over to the new model from early Aug, I can't see how a previous build just before change over will still take to October to deliver....?
If they are saying Oct delivery, my guess is it will be a new model, but you would have thought Porsche should be able to confirm that, as your order spec might likely not be able to be met given the changes in colours/options etc.,etc now.
Its very poor that they can't confirm this. Does seem like a lot of other industries are having production and delivery issues as well though.
I'm waiting for a simple UPVC external door/frame to be made, originally 3-4 weeks, they said 3 months ago, now at 8 weeks since order, the factory still can't give a delivery date due to materials and staff shortages.

I'm not one to defend Porsche, as I've had some bad experiences with their OPC's. But in this case it seems to be an industry wide problem, hence the very strong second hand residuals right now. In fact it's an issue for many industry's due to the impact of COVID on production, semi conductor shortages, etc, etc.
On the plus side, many of us havent been driving as much, so that mitigates the issues to an extent. And Uber/Bolt have been bloody cheap, I've had 50-25% off promotions for most of the year.
Semi conductors (and now floods) affecting the whole industry currently, not just Porsche unfortunately. It's not great for anyone, (customers, dealers, importers, manufacturers) at the moment, and dealers are understandably also struggling to keep up with the changing situation everyday.
Pre-facelift cars are still going through production and will be for a short while alongside the new ones - the delays in production affected everything so it's all pushed back. Unless you've been told otherwise by your dealer, you will be receiving the (pre-facelift) car you ordered.
You'd know if your order's been converted to the new one as you'll get a new sales contract with the updated pricing/spec etc.
If you really don't want the "old" one and the spec hasn't been locked down yet you can always ask to pull your order and convert to a new 2022 model year one, although obviously that might mean delivery even later!

Well there are a few exceptions
Punched in my 3 y/o Cayenne into WBAC and I can get out of it for a ~£9K loss. Since I'm not using it much for the foreseeable and my parents are barely using their lease (2k miles in 18m on 10k contract mileage), may aswell pop another order in and crystallise that loss before it reverts to the norm.
The only fly in the ointment is the imminent Cayenne facelift, would rather switch to that since no runout discounts, but would mean a longer wait
I've now cancelled my Macan S order. The dealer couldn't give me any indication as to when (if?) it might be delivered. The well known semi conductor shortage has been compounded by the devastating floods in Germany. Apparently, quite a few finished cars were written off, and their suspension component facility has been damaged.
Anyhow the dealer, Guildford, have done their best but I need a car by September. If anyone fancies a Macan slot give them a bell!

We've just got back from our OPC to spec my Mrs'.
She's top of the list but won't get a car till November delivery.

We are going on Saturday to do the same, have been told to order now for Summer delivery - when our current lease will go back.
I have to ask - did the dealer give any discounts or freebies?

Yes that is the case unfortunately - anything with PASM/air suspension is affected.
They should start coming through again from November onwards if no more setbacks, obviously it doesn't sound like that works for you timing wise.
Chased out order today and was told January at earliest depending on what their allocation turns out to be and where I sit in their queue.
Has become more important after someone decided to smash through my front door and take out current car.

I was having a play on the configurator for a Macan ‘base’ yesterday, PASM and air suspension do not appear as options at the moment.
Also, does anyone know why the monthly payment calculator isn’t available at the moment? (Not just for Macan, also unavailable for Cayman).

I believe that some manufacturers are simplifying their production lines at the moment, so could be the same thing happening here.
For example Audi have removed the panoramic sun roof option from most cars, and are also shipping cars with only one key due to the chip shortage.

I spend way more time than is healthy on the configurator. The payment calculator seems to come and go across various models with no particular reason day by day.
I called in to my local OPC this week, they seemed to think that delivery times should be quite reasonable so I may hold off ordering until start of next year.
Getting one in the showroom to look at in October.
