I used Tony at Wrightune for all my servicing in the 5 years I owned my car.

I have just sold my C4 S  and the chap buying understandably wants an inspection doing - I have absolutely no problem with it, he is using Wrightune near Didcot.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys
I have just sold my C4 S  and the chap buying understandably wants an inspection doing - I have absolutely no problem with it, he is using Wrightune near Didcot. I just want to be sure they know what they are doing.
Obviously if they find faults then thats fine, however its a 6 year old car and don't want the Himalayas made out of a molehill!!
When I bought the car I had a 111 point OPC inspection done and it was at the 911 Service clinic at OPC Bournemouth last month so don't expect any problems.
Are they any good? :dont know:
If anyone has any experience (good or bad) please reply, PM's welcome if you'd rather keep it quiet.
Thanks
Ben
Be careful. My thought proess after you said you had a check done a month ago and they still don't trust the car makes me think the buyer is either super paranoid or wants to find a few faults so s/he can drive the price down further.
If the car looked good and drove well and it had a 111 point check performed less than 1000 miles previously I would happily commit to the sale.
Good luck.
Oops, I miss read your post, thought you said you had an OPC test done last month. It's perfectly reasonable to want to have a test done, ignore my last post.
What car are you changing too?
Hi Sy
I am, unfortunately, staring down the barrell of a 1.6 TFSI Audi A3!!!!! :nooo:
The sad truth is that I am getting a company car and as I don't have a garage and my new job doesn't make it practical to have a 911 she has got to go.
I totally understand the buyer's wish to have a PPI, afterall I did. I was just wondering if Wrightune are a "well regarded" company. If they find valid faults I have no porblem, I just want to be sure they know what they are talking about! I don't pretend to have heard of every indy however I think I have heard of most and these guys are totally new to me.
I have heard a lot of horror stories from both buyer's AND sellers sides.
Cheers for your input!
Ben
p.s I think that of all goes to plan a RS4 avant or an older RS6+ may be on the cards in a few months! Cayenne Turbo - mmmmmm, not sure!
You could always get a ppi done yourself if you are concerned about the indy.
The Audi a3 is not so bad, the worst part is how painfully boring it looks. Sorry to hear you have to sell up. At least you will have a few years 100% hastle free motoring with the company steed.
Wrightune do have a good reputation and you would hope that any faults they find will also be accompanied by realistic remedies and rectification costs (at least compared to OPC prices)
First timer,
Only had experience on the buy side generally think that the respected specialists are all sensible and dont tend to make mountains out of molehills. I bought the tt after a ppi which the previous owner and i attended. the owner was nervous that i was upto something but after an hour or so with an honest professional he saw that his car was a good un and that there was nothing untoward going on.
Have faith, provided you know the PPI company!
Ps good luck.
Hi Jester
Thanks for that. I know deep down the car is a good un, its just when I had it inspected I used Porsche in Leeds.
My only concern (rightly or wrongly) is that "specialists" who are based very close to the new buyer may use this opportunity to drum up work whether it needs doing or not. However from what I have been told by fellow forumites they seem to be trustworthy so hopefully nothing to worry about.
I hope if Wrightune are reading this they understand and don't take exception!!
I have only had a PPI done from a buyers perspective too so feel for all those sellers that have done to them - nerve wracking!!
Thanks anyway, i'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Cheers
Ben
Can't agree with this. Even if Porsche had checked the car 1000 miles ago: Porsche's 111 point inspection is inferior to that performed by a good specialist. Besides, 1000 miles is not an insignificant distance - it isn't a Mondeo. In the buyer's shoes I would definitely exercise due diligence and check it again.
'Feeling' your car is a goodun is misleading also. The guy I bought this car from had the same feeling (definitely a genuine bloke) and the car passed its PPI at JAZ Porsche with flying colours. 3 months later - £2000 worth of suspension work needed doing at Centre Gravity so it would stop trying to kill me.
I used Tony at Wrightune for all my servicing in the 5 years I owned my car.
He is a very straight guy and would not imho take advantage of the situation to 'win over ' the new buyer.
PM sent with an example.
Hi chaps
Sorry for delay in telling you how I got on (if you are interested!!)
Basically the guy bought then car and Wrightune couldn't have been better - of course they picked up a few things but nothing major and as was advised here they all had very realistic remedies quoted. They guy was happy, i am happy (ish - although I don't have a 911 anymore  ) and all good.
Very highly recommended!
Ben
