Mine used to be a sweaty one, but since it was changed 3 years ago, it has been perfectly dry.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi boys 6weeks ago had a new clutch and rms fitted to my 996.2 when jacking my car up on weekend with a puncher noticed oil leaking from the rear main (again ) the car is with them now having a warranty replacement . they said porsche have revised this seal 4 times now am no div and have fitted loads of rms in my day to fords i know they can be hit and miss . am worried that it will leak again and they will just fob me off how long do they normally last as they said all 996's leak

POST 2Original post

They don't all leak - some don't at all & some just 'sweat' a bit (damp but no drips) Mine used to be a sweaty one, but since it was changed 3 years ago, it has been perfectly dry. However, I do hear of other unfortunate people like you......

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thing is ive spent 3k in 4 months on her making it back to A1 condition service ,brakes ,suspension and clutch . and if i come to sell it people would run off if they see the leak

POST 4Original post

One would hope they last a "lifetime", and some do. In theory, the least they should cope with is "clutch to clutch". Mine has lasted 2.5 years since last clutch (and since my ownership) with no drips. No leaking/wetting/misting etc advisories at last service (a few weels ago).

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

 fingers crossed then for tomorrow . i will keep an eye on it
