I'm quite sure that the Softronic file which replaces the existing DME program, is stored in non-volatile memory (otherwise your car wouldn't run after a dead or changed battery).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

POST 2Original post

I'm quite sure that the Softronic file which replaces the existing DME program, is stored in non-volatile memory (otherwise your car wouldn't run after a dead or changed battery). I am not sure of any way to check for sure that a Softronic file is present (Scott may have a secret way to tell, but I've never heard of one). The only way I know to be sure is simply re-flash the car if you aren't certain what file is there.
