Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys Just got some new lower control arms for the front (look like conffins) with bushings and ball joints already in place. I got two questions 1. Install: easy/hard? 2. Alignment needed after? Thanks

POST 2Original post

1. Generally pretty easy. You need a ball joint separator. 2. Yes.

POST 3Original post

Just did this, super easy ~20 minutes a side after taking off wheels etc. Nice thing is you don't have to worry about ruining the ball joint boot with a pickle fork since you are replacing it anyway. Maybe you will need alignment, maybe not, but you need to check it. My toe was 1/2" off but camber was OK. I just reset the toe with my set of Longacre toe plates and was good to go. Post removal inspection revealed the ball joints were really wiped out. Very loose and gritty.
