Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

All, I have had my Cayman S for about a year now. When I bought it the keyfob was not programed. Instead of getting it programed we have been using the key to manually lock and unlock the car. Now the car won't unlock when using the key manually. When you turn the key to the unlock position it doesn't do anything. After turning to the unlock position and puling on the handle the window will lower a little and then return to the up position when the handle is released. Any suggestions. This is our daily driver and now we are stuck!!

POST 2Original post

Does/did the remote open the front/rear trunk releases? Just a wild guess, but if the key is somehow electronically linked to the security system, and the battery in the remote is dead, then maybe that's why it doesn't work (though I'm not sure how the non-remote spare key would work). Have you tried calling Porsche Roadside assistance or your local dealer for advice?

POST 3Original post

No the key doesn't open the front/rear trunk. It never did because the fob wasn't programed to the car. The problem it it won't even unlock the doors manually
