Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
On my model you have to run wires back and forth to the DME under the rear parcel shelf, pedal assemblies and to the fuse and/or relay box.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi , i have a 996 c2 targa on the 02
at the moment i have a 3 stalk wiper switch
i also have a 4 stalk switch in my endless amount of spare as ive broken 4 boxsters
can u just plug and play or do u have to fit a lot of the loom and sensors ?
what u think worth the hassle ? i got 90 quid for a 3 stalk couple weeks ago and seen 4 stalks do 150 . so i could sell my one and use that money for the conversion !
It's not really a "loom" on the 996.2. Just a few wires and connector behind the dash (approx £15-£20 from OPC).
I had my 996.1 (e-gas) converted by WrighTune, but that requires alot more work. On my model you have to run wires back and forth to the DME under the rear parcel shelf, pedal assemblies and to the fuse and/or relay box.
There are full instructions on the RennTech website for facelift (996.2/986) models: (including Richard H's advice)

As an illustration, here is a parts list, not extensive (or expensive) if you already have the stalks. You may be able to salvage some of them from previous vehicles, but I am sure some are not necessarily "reuseable" and certainly easier to fit brand new. Note: Richard H even lists VW equivalents for an even greater cost saving!
On an '02 996 Targa it is fairly straightforward.
There are just 4 wires required. Three go from the stalk to the instrument cluster, and one goes from the stalk to the back of the fuse panel. Then it need enabling with a PST2/PIWIS.
Let me have your email address in a PM and I'll send you some instructions.
