Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

There is noise coming out from my Cayman's trunk and it sounds like a semi-heavy object, like a bottle of beer hitting the carpeted wall. It only happens when I corner hard and that makes me wonder there is something lose. It does not happen while driving over a bump or broken road surface so I don't think it's a lose hatch issue. (am I right?) And the noise isn't 'plastic' or flimsy rattle so I doubt it's rattle from interior pieces. The noise is still there after I emptied the trunk and storage boxes. I checked the trunk carefully and I don't see any possible suspect because there is simply no place for stuff to hide. Does anyone have similar experience? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Re: Something Lose inside of my trunk? I had this exact same noise for 3 months and it drove me crazy!!! I finally found a fix though... .....I removed the bottle of beer that had been rolling around in the back. Seriously though, I have no idea what this might be.

Re: Something Lose inside of my trunk? Front or Rear Trunk? If still under warranty I would take it to dealer and have them check it out.

POST 4Original post

Re: Something Lose inside of my trunk? I had the same sound. it was a golf ball in one of the compartments. Seriously.

POST 6Original post

Re: Something Lose inside of my trunk? Probably the hatch rattle from the counterweight. There is a Porsche bulletin on this. Though there is nothing mechanically wrong and broken, Porsche does acknowledge the rattle in their service database. Its not technically covered by warranty since nothing is physically wrong, but if you sweet talk your dealer, they may take the rear apart and add some padding back there to cure the rattle pro bono.
