Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use these' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'jamming/snapping of same would be a pain' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run light look' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Took the opportunity to clean up both headlamp pod fixing bars with WD40 as minor rust coating appearing, suspect jamming/snapping of same would be a pain.

Suggestion
I brough the design 911 ones and they are ok but they do not face forwards so you don't get the Audi daytime running light look from them.

Test fitted one without resistor - no problem, so suspect they may have been covering their backs just in case.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, Has anyone had experience of these? Can they be fitted as a direct replacement without causing any problems to the electrical system? Do they require delicate fitting, i.e. not touching the 'lamp' area and finally, are they actually legal?
Many thanks.
Hi bud,
got mine from ebay for £8.99 from hids direct.
white light too match xenon lights, very easy to fit and i think that they are e marked.
Also they are ok with can bus systems so no dash lights lit up.
They are H6W SMD LEDs my car is a 2003 model c4s,cheers mark
I brough the design 911 ones and they are ok but they do not face forwards so you don't get the Audi daytime running light look from them.
I had a set of metal lined forward facing ones ones in my last car an they were very bright and gave that White Audi esque look.
As good as the design 911 ones are the give off a quite subtle light. I would say go for the ace parts ones if you want them bright.
GT4 - can you post a picture of your ace parts ones please? I might change mine.
Should have bought a 996.1
Here are the headlights with just sidelights on.
I also show a picture of the sidelights lighting up my garage wall (?) - they are more of an eerie slightly blue glow in person.
Take 2: Second call to Ace Parts established that whilst these lamps are definitely not Canbus, they can supply resistors with them FOC, which will eliminate the error message problem. Advice please, as this seems a tad 'Heath Robinson'. Are these particular lamps worth the trouble as there seem to be several other H6W Canbus versions with forward facing LED's?
Thanks,
Get the easiest ones, I am sure there are equivalents with integrated resistors (given the number of modern cars with similar on-board diagnostics).
You don't want to be soldering thing to your car if you can help it.
Hi all,
i tried a set of leds that were non canbus [normal] and didnt get any errors at all [ 4 x leds].
only reason i took them off was that they were slightly blueish not pure white.
cheers mark
Update: Took a punt on the Acepart 'non Canbus' H6W bulbs (£9.00 - I just don't care sometimes!) They arrived promptly, complete with the separate resistors. Test fitted one without resistor - no problem, so suspect they may have been covering their backs just in case. Excellent precise white light, reasonably viewable in daylight, look very classy! Took the opportunity to clean up both headlamp pod fixing bars with WD40 as minor rust coating appearing, suspect jamming/snapping of same would be a pain. Thanks for all input - much appreciated.
