Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good evening, this morning I listened a small metallic noise at idle from exhaust, only when you relase gas. Its a very thin metallic noise, similar to when you put something in a pan for frying, and it happens only when you relase gas for a few seconds. No other strange noises from engine. Chains seems ok (it has been checked recently during a major service). I though it could be something from catalytic converter, or something near exhaust not well fixed. Any opinion? Thank you.

POST 2Original post

Can you take a video with sound and post? Is this on a fully warmed-up engine?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, also with cold engine. Heres the video, you should listen to it pretty loud. Noise comes after gas relase.

POST 4Original post

Do you have Porsche Sport Exhausr? Could be baffles in mufflers caused by vacuum issue.

POST 5Original post

It does sound like metal rattling, so could be cats muffler, some loose clamp maybe, even an exhaust tip. Try to have someone (safely) rev the engine while you try to pinpoint the sound.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Soheres the verdict: there was a small hole along the welding line of the catalytic converter. 40 to fix the problem. Thank you to everyone who answered.
