Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My frunk light goes out even though it is not entirely closed and I run the maintainer wires right out the front.

Suggestion
I leave the frunk open with its' light on whilst trickle charging...no probs....never thought to try and run the cables another way so I could close it.

I want to switch the light off, otherwise I'm just using power while trying to trickle/tender my battery.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm frankly embarrassed to asked these questions, since I consider myself a car guy. But I'm short on time currently (hurry up and get to Nov) and my eyesight is fuzzy due to a procedure last week.
1. I want to remove the battery from the car to clean up the battery location area. Pretty straight forward to remove it. The question is do I need a radio code or anything? Based on my reading (RTFM already), I have a CD23, which has MOST and does not require a radio code. Is that correct? (Read the manual, let's not assume I can comprehend what I read!
)
2. I just hooked up my battery tender to the car. (looks like the previous owner had a tender wire connected to the battery already - woot) Where is the microswitch located for the frunk? I want to switch the light off, otherwise I'm just using power while trying to trickle/tender my battery.
3. Doing some searching on this forum, it looks like lots of folks are using their tenders via the cig light adapter. This is possible with this car? Is this a "safe" option? Because if it is, I can order a CLA adapter for my tender and won't have to worry about the frunk light being on!
BTW, it's an '04.
You will not need codes (they are stored in the ECU). My frunk light goes out even though it is not entirely closed and I run the maintainer wires right out the front.
Why not put the battery on a straight overnight charging? Disconnect it fully from the car and bang it on full charge. Then you pump in the radio code when you reconnect. If you dont know your radio code you can find a site on the net which will find it for you. I did just that. I then wrote down the code for future referance. I have done that one time in 16 months of ownership. I use the car daily. No probs. Are you leaving your car for weeks on end why you need to have it on a tender or what ever its called.
I leave the frunk open with its' light on whilst trickle charging...no probs....never thought to try and run the cables another way so I could close it.
BTW, my volt gauge never gets close to 14 when driving, I would say it hovers at 13 most of the time....sometimes my battery seems a bit on the lazy side...spose I should get the alternator checked out?
