I'm with you on a functioning gt3 specd rear bumper and pretty sure the 996 has a factory aero kit that uses those sideskirts.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The car looks really good, I like that rear bumper a lot!... only thing is my neck hurts from trying to see the pictures correctly.
What's the new project?
Looks great! I just recently ordered a bumper that looks close to the rear on yours. It looks awesome on your car! What size and offset wheels are you using?
WOW, looks awesome...that's a very unique MKI 996
KEEP IT!!!
I'd never be able to get away with that ride height where I live. I would seriously scrape the bottom 10 times on a typical drive.
Sorry I using my I phone so i gotta be close to take a good picture and have it fit in the screen. But it is up for sale.
I have the mk1 wing and mk2 wing oem on both =)
I guess I am the oddball. I like most everything but the rear bumper. It just doesn't look right to me. Looks like an add on rather than integrated into the rear. IMHO
The problem with major mods like you have done is that you drastically cut your potential buyer pool. The majority of buyers are looking for a mostly stock appearance as it came from the factory (with perhaps factory options).
You'll have to find a buyer that shares your same taste in styling and adjust your price accordingly.
To each it's own I think the factory 996 rear is Boring and ugly and the rear fins look stupid.
If who ever wants it wants it with the factory rear it takes only 15 min to swap.
It's on h&r coil overs.
Selling it cause I have a nsx also and i prefer that cars look. 996 is more fun to drive
But the nsx is more fun to drive fast.
A bit too ricey, slammed like that with that rear bumper and side skirts, for me. Still don't get the 996 is fun to drive , but the NSX is more fun to drive fast? Good luck with the sale.
its a 997 gt3 rs rear bumper for 996 from precision porsche
again im trying to fit the car in a picture using my phone man, never had so many people complain bout a angled picture. im assuming the older crowd likes all oem and the younger group likes the more modded look.
i put on that rear cause it was the only one that had vents to release some heat from the engine compartment. call it rice or what ever but i like the way it looks and its my car so i can do what i like to it. if you like the stock rear more power to you i think its ugly.
corn bread i hold all my ar15s, glocks and s&w straight i dont like shells ejecting in my face.

Pretty true in general, for "major" cosmetic changes. While we older crowd types like to mod our cars, we do tend to be less severe. When something screams "aftermarket add on", like the rear bumper and side skirts on your car do to me, then that will be the older crowds general reaction, where as the younger crowd often likes to be different for differences sake. Not many at any age like the stock US version 996 stance for instance, often quoting the "4x4" look. The nose is too high relative to the rear, which affects performance & handling. So while many of us lowered the cars via coilovers, X74, or X73 or ROW M030 to achieve the right look/performance, the slammed down look is reserved for real track cars, or street cars from the Fast & Furious crowd. It's no insult to say "it looks too ricey to me"...it's just my opinion, just like you don't like the stock bumper.
you should ask if i track, this is not my only car i have multiple track cars hopefully ill see some of you guys at laguna seca, thunder hill infinion, button willow and streets of willow.
I'm with you on a functioning gt3 specd rear bumper and pretty sure the 996 has a factory aero kit that uses those sideskirts.
Kris if you decide you want to sell that rear bumper let me know bc it is on my list.
