Suggestion

Most of the effort is up to the new owner of the car, he'll need to have the car "certified" at a Porsche dealer that it is up to Canadian specs (day time running lights enabled, speedo readout switched to Km, etc.) before he can title it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As the title says, US citizen drives here and sells. Is it legal? Anybody has done it?

POST 3Original post

I've done it, I sold my BMW M-Roadster to a fellow in Vancouver about a year and a half ago. There area a handful of things you need to do/have ready at the time of the vehicle transfer, but it's fairly straightforward. Do an internet search for the paper work you need. Most of the effort is up to the new owner of the car, he'll need to have the car "certified" at a Porsche dealer that it is up to Canadian specs (day time running lights enabled, speedo readout switched to Km, etc.) before he can title it.

POST 4Original post

If you strike a deal and the buyer is paying via a wire transfer to your U.S. bank, be advised that such a cross-border transfer can take up to 3 business days to consummate. relinuca

POST 5Original post

There is not much for you to do, it is all on the buyer. He needs to obtain a letter from Porsche, or a dealer, saying that the car has no outstanding recalls. Then he deals with exporting the car through US customs which is very easy. Next he deals with Canadian Border Services, also very easy. He will then need a provincial and federal inspection. Very easy and does not require a dealer to assist. The US citizen cannot sell you the car in Canada though. The car gets sold to you in the US, and then you go through the importation steps. Check here, www.riv.ca it has everything you need to know except details about the US customs. Cheers
