Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

An indie I use for inspections, that NORMALLY doesn't rip me off, failed me on an ITR, & bent me over good when they did just ONE inner on my Dodge truck.
Leading evidence: 'Use inspections' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set scews' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I pulled them off by turning the wheel far right then left for each side and used a pipe wrench.

I used the tool on my truck, not my Porsche yet, and the tool itself makes things easier, but don't know for a fact how well it fits on the TRW Porsche ITR.

Suggestion
The Gudcraft crows feet are pretty thick, and you can tweak the width a little by just tightening the 2 allen set scews.

Suggestion
You could also put the crows foot in a vise, and bring it in a skosh, as the set screws will hold it to size.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought the lisle inner tie rod wrench.....the 1-1/4" doesnt hold (and 1-3/16" doesnt fit) when taking off the tie rod. I pulled them off by turning the wheel far right then left for each side and used a pipe wrench. They are TRW's and after I got them off I put a 32mm socket on just to check and it fit really well.
The 1-1/4" tool fit was just slightly loose, wouldnt hold though and wore off the corners. For the new ones I'll see if I can get the 32mm tool or just use a 32mm crows foot.
Hmm, that's weird, as 1 1/4" is actually 31.75mm, so it should be a little tight, not loose. I've not found an ITR kit (mine has 7 sizes, some metric some SAE) that has 32mm (in fact, wasn't like they normally even had 1 1/4" either), because, presumably, 1 1/4 works. I don't have the Lisle, I think mine is Gudcraft. I used the tool on my truck, not my Porsche yet, and the tool itself makes things easier, but don't know for a fact how well it fits on the TRW Porsche ITR. I have the new TRWs in the garage, so I really should see how good the fit is before I get under the car. I may have to get a 32mm Crows Foot. I assume Northern Tool has them. Napa and any of the auto parts stores don't.
I think the Gudcraft has a wider thicker socket fit, the lisles are a stamped plate but I've used them on an F-150 and F-250 and they were fine (not the 1-1/4" though). Northern Tool has the crows feet, so does Harbor Freight, and I believe Lowes has them but limited selection.
Yeah the reason I'm asking is I had the same issue with my Audi S4 - couldn't get anything reasonable on it. I guess I'll just have it done, my shop quoted me 100 bucks for both sides; not really worth my time at that pt.
If your shop will do both inners (and may as well do the outers for the few bucks more) for $100, go for it. An indie I use for inspections, that NORMALLY doesn't rip me off, failed me on an ITR, & bent me over good when they did just ONE inner on my Dodge truck. $63 for the ITR part and $140 labor. But I wasn't in a position to fix it, needed the truck on the road the next day, so I paid it. I bought the other ITR and both OTRs on Rockauto for $36 total shipped, the I & OTR tool kits for $70, and did them in about 2 easy hours total, along with the ARB links.
The Gudcraft crows feet are pretty thick, and you can tweak the width a little by just tightening the 2 allen set scews. You could also put the crows foot in a vise, and bring it in a skosh, as the set screws will hold it to size. Hope to do the Porsche this weekend.
I've got the parts sitting in my office; I was quoted hour do to both sides, inner and outer. At $100 it's not worth messing with ordering parts and that stupid clamp on the inner side that's a PITA to take off (and ballparking the alignment before I get it aligned on the rack etc). We'll see though how motivated I feel over the weekend.
You can't beat that for a hundred bucks. Just wait till he finds out the wrench doesnt fit and he has to buy a new one from the Snap-on guy for $120.
Check the new one for pipe wrench burs after installation.
