Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2002 Speed Yellow 911 C4S with 36k miles. The car has a matching yellow center console and seat belts. The old owner bought a set of GEmballi speed dials but never got around to installing them.
Question: Is it something a do-it-yourselfer can do? Will the Porsche dealer install for me?
Thanks for the input.

I have done this a few times. I would say it is not "hard" but you have to be very careful. Take it slow. My first time thru I messed up one of the tiny gears behind the temp gauge.
Be gentle and methodical and it will go smooth.
search is your friend
but I know it is hard to find the right info
check my post on this thread (page 2)

I had my whole cluster in pieces, not hard to do, just take your time. Everything just plug and play.
Thank you guys. I appreciate the information. Philooo I looked at your pics and goodness, that looks tedious. I'm thinking I'd rather pay to have it done. LOL I'm not sure I have that kind of patience or *****.
it really is not that hard, just take an afternoon and you are good to go.
but take your time or get it done by someone if you are not the patient type

Are you changing out the whole cluster or replacing the original gauge faces with the Gembala? If just the cluster, then it is a quick 30 minute job or an hour if you have never done it. If the faces, then you can get into trouble as the step motors that drive the needles are VERY fragile. If you pry on the needle incorrectly you will most likely damage the motor and VDO does not sell replacement parts for the cluster. A new cluster from Porsche is about $2,200.00~
