Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When putting up the top on my 2001 C2 Cabrio, the top comes all the way up and latches completely. Just when I expect the windows to come up, the top unlatches and wants to fold down. I have also noticed that the rear windows are now inop. Front windows go up fine, but the rears do not want to function. I have a feeling that that tops goes up and then senses that the rears are not working and decides to put the top back down. I will check fuses but when I operate the rear switches down, I hear a slight click. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

There is a sensor switch where the hook latches. The switch is not being activated to complete the operation of the top. Push it with your finger and you will be able to operate the windows. You are probably missing the plastic cover that goes on the hook. They break easily. POST 4Original post

The plastic is probably missing on the latch as suggested. The rear windows do not operate with the top down. The micro switch inside the front screen frame has to be fully contacted by the plastic cover of the hook for the rear windows to work. They only come up when the top is fully closed. With the top down you can't operate the rear windows. Thats normal.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone, great help. Had done some searches but did not find the exact posts that fpb111 had. Of course, right after posting, the top started working as normal, but I now know just a little bit more about the car. Thanks for that!
