Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Finally, one of them tried a no-look-lane-change and ran me onto the shoulder where I ran through a debris field of shredded truck tire and ripped one brake scoop off.

Suggestion
I have been working on filling the scratch with multiple coats of touch up paint for the past couple weeks and have looking pretty decent now.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What a crapper of a day so far!! Started out with someone calling me at 8am, 8am on a SUNDAY!!, to see if I was going for coffee, which they know I do but not until 9.30!! Ok, so go to coffee at 9.30, on the bike, and just about get run off the road by two ***** in cars!! Then, when I get back hone, the house ohones don't work and took me about an hour to get them working!! So, let's go out in the 996 for some pleasure and to try out my new clutch/flywheel/IMS bearing etc.......shouldn't have bothered......coming down I75, outside lane, were all in close quarters doing about 75mph.......out of the blue comes a giant chunk of truck tire......I swerve off onto the left shoulder to try to avoid said piece of ****, but to no avail. I hit it with the right front air dam and tear off the spoiler lower lip and bang up the front and underside. In addition I now have all sorts of weird vibration noises that weren't there before which makes the interior "buzz" in places.
I'm frightened to take a crap in case my **** gets damaged in the process!!
Might just go to bed and try to stay safe!!
What a bloody day.......insurance man will be pleased to hear from me in the morning!!
So how does the clutch and flywheel feel in comparison to the old? Things happens. Part of life. Although very annoying, plastic parts can be replaced.
Yea I hear you brother. I had my 996 out a couple weeks ago and a large piece of metal got kicked up by the car in front of me and flew at me like a frisbee. I tried to swerve to the right but there was a pickup truck there so could only move over a couple feet. It hit the side of my car behnd the driver side door and put a deep scratch in it down to the metal. I have been working on filling the scratch with multiple coats of touch up paint for the past couple weeks and have looking pretty decent now. I was pissed off for a while but now its just patina.
I drove 160 miles to cut the grass at my other house. It takes 5 hours to cut. 45 minutes in, the tractor took a s**t. The only thing I had to jump it with was the 996, so out into the muddy field I went. In the next hour, I had to jump it 6 more times. When I scratched my front bumper with the cables, I decided it was time to quit and go home before I burned the tractor to the ground. The road was paved with idiots the whole way home. Finally, one of them tried a no-look-lane-change and ran me onto the shoulder where I ran through a debris field of shredded truck tire and ripped one brake scoop off. Two blocks from my house is a high school. Someone at baseball practice creamed an out of the park homer. You guessed it...BOOM, hit the side of the car. I should've stayed home and watched the Grand Prix of Budapest.
And I thought my 2hrs of lawn cutting was bad. I decided to stay in and watch the olympics all weekend (no lawn cutting nor 996 driving). Looks like I made the right decision so far.
I try to give vehicles in front of me some distance. I've had lengths of 6" chain going across a lane and a half (missed it), a 4"X4" lumber (nail left wheels), 2 different large trucks with exploding tires parts flying all over (no damage). Other good chances for doom from not hanging back from cars. I just give up on thinking the road is safe. Of course the titanium plate and 12 screws wont rust but eh. Add fricking sand while on the gsxr-1000 that can throw a highside with the bike smashing you when it comes out of the air while sliding on the road.
I had the AOS replaced also, while it was apart. To be honest, it feels like a different car! Smooth LIGHT clutch. Smoother sound and feel to the motor. Very pleased with the results.
