Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am thinking about changing out my factory gray steering wheel and going black with red stitching . I am doing that black/red theme on other items in the interior . There are lots of options out there . The Nardi Gara Sport is a 350mm flat bottom wheel that I really like the look of . I think with a NRG 2 " spacer it would look and feel great with good viewing of the gauges . Yeah I know that it eliminates the air bag . So any of you guys using this steering wheel ? Do you like it ?

POST 2Original post

While I dont have a Nardi, I once had a Personal wheel made by Nardi and it was very nice. The color combo youre going with sounds pretty bad *** but Im biased since my color combo is the same.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is the wheel , I like the clean look . And the red stitching gives just a little pop without being over the top . I still haven't made up my mind . The Momo Monte Carlo 350mm is another consideration . https://mrsteeringwheel.com/nardi-ga...-6040-35-2092/

If you pull the trigger on this swap and want to sell the current wheel, please let me know. I might be interested for my 993.

Will do 👍

POST 6Original post

i have a Nardi Gara 3/3 360mm. installed it using the standard momo hub kit with no additional spacer. i like the feel and lighter weight without the airbag.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^^^ The wheel looks nice 👌 . The space between the bottom of the wheel and where your legs would be looks very tight . How is it getting in and out ?

POST 8Original post

it's not too bad. i have the adjustment on the side mounts raked higher on the front so it reduces the space for sure.

Last question how is your view of the gauges with the 360mm wheel ? I think the stock wheel is 372mm .

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmm a new option has appeared . Anyone purchased one of these from Germany ? I have had an online conversation with him . He uses stock size wheel so gauge viewing should still be good . Flat bottom for some leg clearance . Additional padding/grip areas . And you keep your original wheel/air bag . Thoughts ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/22379202303...AaApJuEALw_wcB

the view is still good. no cut off from the top of the wheel. i was originally wanting a 340mm but that probably would've cut off the gauges a bit. from what i recall my 350mm momo has clear field of the gauges as well (at least based on my seat position)

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I just pulled the trigger and purchased the custom wheel out of Germany I referenced above . Should arrive around 4/17 . All my email questions were answered within 24 hours so it's nice to see a responsive vendor .

something very similiar, a 340 flat bottom from dct https://www.ebay.com/itm/256275829622

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^^^ Yes I considered the DCT wheel but was concerned the 340mm size would block the view of the gauges . Some guys have said the same about that wheel . The wheel I purchased is made from a stock round wheel then modified to a flat bottom . A stock wheel is 370-372mm . So in theory even though the custom wheel has more cushion than a stock wheel the gauge viewing should still be good . At least that's my hope 😁 . I guess I will find out .

Love the nardi setup in 996. Could you link me the exact Momo hub you use? I was told that it would not deactivate the airbag and something else is needed. i want to give my Savanah beige a little more black for a sportier look and I think steering wheel is the first to be swapped.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My wheel from Germany has started the journey to me via DHL . Running behind original schedule but I am not in a rush .
