Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Probably the price you have to pay if you cannot do the jobs yourself.
Leading evidence: 'price you have' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'price you have' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). Was he doing an oil change when he saw the leaks???????
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings my fellow Porsche enthusiasts...I guess the passion and love of my first Carrera propelled me to enquire and learn more about how to maintain my car, which I refer to as Pegasus, the Krimson Knight! I am coming on my first oil change and the mechanic who works on Porsches down the street from me here in Hermosa noticed some oil leaks on both the seal and to the right of it, a larger panel...seal replacement was 115 and the larger panel 545 plus labor...no biggie...I asked him to write me up an invoice as I am going out of town for a week and then he was like well after I look at it, I may have to do other things to the car which may be relevant to the oil...for you guys who have been in this scenario, as my oil is not leaking to the ground even, should I just get the two recommendations he noticed done? My followup question is can there be anything else he is referring to that may need to be fixed? I just had a feeling he may have been taking me for a ride...please get back to me when time permits...thanks.
Tanvir H.
Greetings,
Pic of the "seal" and "Larger Panel"??
There are many seals on Pegasus's bottom. A pic of the general area would be very helpful for diagnosis.
Pegasus has spark plug tube seals that can leak, no biggie, cam cover seals, biggie, RMS & IMS seals, gigantie...etc
If you are getting the feeling that he is 'taking you for a ride' then drag the car away from him and live with the small leak until you can get a second opinion. Or give him 'The whip hand' like you are doing and get ready for a big fork out should you give him the 'go ahead' on anything that he thinks needs attention. Probably the price you have to pay if you cannot do the jobs yourself. Was he doing an oil change when he saw the leaks???????
