Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that performed work without a confirmed outcome

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Fill tank the night' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check oil levels' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Suggestion
There is now way that they would not leave a way to check oil levels that would be asinine!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i just cold started my 996 to warm it,, i started ok then i noticed a very light like vapor smoke coming out the exhaust,, the smoke is darker and more dusty than regular vapor,, doesn't smell like oil,, the smoke kept coming out even after warmed up,, it comes even more when i rev it,,
any idea?
What year? Are the drains under the battery clear? Did it sit out in a heavy rain storm last night? Dip Stick is the yellow ring above the alternator left of the filler tube.
its a 2002 C4S
no heavy rains
i don't know what RUF did to the dipstick when they did the kompressor
could it be bad fuel? i just filled the tank the night before
Post a couple high quality pics of your engine bay and we will find it for you. There is now way that they would not leave a way to check oil levels that would be asinine!
Uhh... Wouldn't it be on the same spot as the rest of ours? If the dipstick is missing could that cause a leak in the vacuum system and be part of the problem?
Another +1 for the AOS.
Did you drive it hard the last time you used it? I find that after I drive it hard, I do get some smoke. I've also got an '02 C4S

Apologies for the sharp comment- was having a bad day!!
As jdog stated i can't believe that any engine modifier would remove the dipstick intentionally - if the tube is there but no measuring stick then it could well be oil being blown out and onto the exhaust manifolds.
