The clutch and flywheel have been replaced in the last 1500 miles so I thought I'd check the clutch booster spring to make sure that it's not broken.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I just got a 2000 996 and the clutch feels heavy/stiff (compared to the 2002 Boxster that I just sold). The clutch and flywheel have been replaced in the last 1500 miles so I thought I'd check the clutch booster spring to make sure that it's not broken. I removed the clutch booster spring assembly and inspected it (the spring was still in one piece). After inspecting, I reinstalled the clutch booster spring assembly. Now when I drive it, the clutch feels heavier/stiffer than before. Any ideas? Thanks- Rob P. ***solved*** For anyone who's interested, I solved my issue. The reason that my clutch was worse after reinstalling the clutch booster spring assembly was that I forgot to remove the nail that was holding the spring in place (d'oh). After removing the nail from the spring assembly, all is back to normal. .
