Separately I plan on replacing my brake lines and doing a full system flush.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Soon going to be doing the 60K service with clutch and all.
Question are:
1. I am hopefully... hopefully! hoping for a turbo in the next year or so... so I would like to get a clutch set up that will be able to withstand that. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I dont need anything over the top to handle 1000 hp, but I figure it should probably be a bit more of a heavy duty than a factory porsche one? any thoughts?
2. What should I do while I am at clutch replacement? The car has not had RMS or IMS done, yet I do keep a very careful eye out for metal shavings in my filter for IMS!!
3. Can anyone help me compile a list of all parts for all services that I should be doing while I am in there doing the clutch? I just want to bring it to my indy and have them do the work, and not charge me over for the parts.
Thanks in advance!
-Paul
Ok. I actually also have done my plugs, however I havent done the serpentine belt. So I guess I will add that to the list:
LNE IMSRB
RMS
AOS
Waterpump
Serpentine Belt
.. Anything else?
I am not looking to spend more money to be honest, just want to do what ever needs to be done while there.
Thanks guys,
Paul
Not sure if you will be saving any money by doing water pump attge same time as it is not at the same location as the clutch. If it's not leaking you might want to hold off.. Do a transmission fluid flush and fill. Also possibly change out the trensioners for the chain..
I'm actually just getting ready to start the same project. I've collected all of my parts and need to get a few odd tools before I get going this weekend. My list is:
LNE IMS
RMS
Oil Change
Magnetic drain plug
Clutch (full kit)
Gearbox oil change
I plan on checking out my AOS when I get in there and doing an on-the-fly evaluation. I'm in the same boat as you - I'm not out there to spend extra cash. I'm also going to checkout my flywheel, compare it to spec and probably take sanding paper to clean it up. I suspect at 56k miles it'll be in OK shape.
Separately I plan on replacing my brake lines and doing a full system flush. Also an inspection of the calipers - I suspect something is wrong in my braking system.
Finally, for a 3rd job I have a serp belt that I plan on putting on there. I'll probably do the spark plugs in that go as well. I'll checkout the water pump then as well
I think there's a difference when you do work yourself. There's no need to combine a clutch job and water pump .... get one thing working and then go for the next
Ok. Great thanks for the advice! So I know I started this thread some time ago, however now, finally looking to pick up my clutch kit.
What do you guys suggest interms of the clutch kit? Which company? Which kit? Can you all share some links for the recommended kits?
Also, if I get some sort of a heavier duty clutch now How would it ride in the mean time until turbo-ed? Would it be "user friendly"?
Thanks guys,
Paul
