Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
On my Audi S4 I can use VagCom to change the setting on the ECU to allow the remote to roll the windows/sunroof closed or roll down windows based upon how long I hold down the remote lock/unlock button on the FOB.
Leading evidence: 'Set on the ecu' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set on the ecu' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is my car malfunctioning or is this how it is supposed to operate? I'm referring to when you insert your key and turn the outside door lock and hold it in a position and the windows open/close.
I read about it here somewhere and wasn't aware that this feature existed - so I tried it for the first time today. When I walked up to my car, I put the key in the door and turned it (tried both left and right) and held it in position - nothing happened.
I then got in the car, and opened both windows with the center console switches and got out of the car and closed the door.
I repeated the step above- putting the key in and turning it/holding it and the windows automatically closed on both sides.
Is this how it should operate, or is my "open windows" mode of working broken?
Thanks!
Steve
Yes. The thing I did not try is making sure the car was locked before I tried it - I did it with unlocked doors. Should that matter? I follow the same steps trying to open the windows as I do when closing them. I will have to try again tomorrow with the doors locked and see if that makes a difference.
It sorta makes sense that the car has to be locked first?
IIRC the sequence with the key held in the door is unlock doors first then roll windows down.
Ok, tried it today and it worked. It works for both opening and closing now. It's strange - I followed the same procedures as the day before. I wasn't sure if the car was locked when I tried, so this time I locked the car and it worked.
I should have looked at the sunroof - is that supposed to open and close at the same time too? I was looking through the car to make sure the passenger's window was opening, and didn't pay attention to the sunroof.
Thanks
