It was recommended that I also replace the flasher relay for the turn signals because the low draw of the LED replacements caused the turn signals to flash in double time, similar to when a turn signal light is burned out.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently installed all new LED lights for my 2000 Carrera Cabriolet 996. Replacement of incandescent with LED's from Superbrightleds.com for the entire interior and exterior with exception of headlights and high beams. It was recommended that I also replace the flasher relay for the turn signals because the low draw of the LED replacements caused the turn signals to flash in double time, similar to when a turn signal light is burned out. The replacement flasher for the LED was easy and a quick fix. All lighting is working normal including the side markers, flashers, fog, lids, license plate, reverse, tail and brake lights. The interior lamps are fantastic and very bright and all of the exterior lamps look great at night in the dark. So much brighter than the original incandescent lamps.
So the first test drive was just fine during the day. But the first time I drove the car at night is when I noticed the PSM and ABS lights on the dash instrument panel illuminated right after I turned on the headlights. Of course this made me nervous so I stopped in a safe place with normal braking. I turned off the engine and the headlights. Turned on the engine again and moved forward so all the safety indicator instrument lights turned off normally. No ABS and PSM lights illuminated. I stopped the car and turned on the headlamps again, and same as the other time both ABS and PSM lights on the instrument panel illuminated again. Hmmm, there must be a correlation to the LED lights replacement since I have never experienced this issue in the 8 years I have owned this Porsche. So I drove home with no ABS and PSM and didn't have any troubles with normal city driving with headlights on and all lights working normally. The next day during daylight I drove the car without headlamps on, and wouldn't you know it, the ABS and PSM lights did not illuminate. So I turned on the lights again and bingo, they illuminated again.
So this is a problem, but I have no idea what to do to fix it. I have two choices so far, take it in the mechanic or I could try singling out each of the LED lights and replace them with the original lights to see which set is causing this sensor trip? Has anyone had this experience? If you have would you mind sharing your reaction and remedy if you have one? Thanks!
