Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3Original post

Thinking I'd want the videos with today's paper to also show the serial number too. Not like he couldn't be showing another perfectly healthy motor These "I'm doing a LS swap from a perfectly healthy M96" just don't sit well with me... I also love that they'll take a TT/GT2 transmission in partial trade. A rebuild of one of those costs more than he's asking for the motor!

POST 4Original post

Yeah, doing a swap on a healthy car makes no sense..... start with a roller for $4000 or whatever they cost these days, not a $15,000 fresh car and try and labor your way to $8000 (which seems low) for a healthy engine so that you are $3000 or more behind when you start. Dunno, seems weird/fishy.

POST 5Original post

Honestly swapping a solid running car is way smarter. That guy probably figures the sale of the engine will pay for the majority of his swap vs parting a scrap engine.. I priced the v8 swap when my head took a dump... I could have done it for 10k.

POST 6Original post

I hope the engine doesn't burn any oil. Will be a bit challenging to add oil

Maybe, but those extra 20hp make up for minor oil starvation issues. Besides oil changes are so much easier when there is no oil left to drain

POST 9Original post

Plus side you can hire a shop to perform full engine PPI and if it passes have them remove it.
