Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Moving on, I bought a beautiful C4S from a member here in this forum and the day after I got it home I installed a jammer per the following:
Leading evidence: 'Install jammer per the following' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install jammer per the following' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I cut the mounting tabs off the sides of the transceivers and used two-sided tape to fasten the heads to the inlet fins:
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
I looked for a write-up on installing laser jammers in 996's and didn't really see one. Several jammer show and tells but no real install help so I shot a few pics to put one up.
Disclaimers: before the fun police opine I'll offer some info: laser jammers are legal in my state (YMMV, see thread end), they ABSOLUTELY do work (I have used them for the last 7 years on my NSX and 955 CTT-S), they are not outlawed by the FCC (laser is light and not sound waves therefore does not fall under the purview of the FCC) and I'll reiterate they really are very effective.
I happened to have an extra Laser Interceptor jammer ready for install as a couple years ago I had an opportunity to buy several wholesale. It appears that Escort has entered into a US distribution agreement with LI or they are producing their own copy under license. At any rate the LI unit is no longer available but visually the Escort unit is a clone so I surmise one of the two situations occurred.

Leon and the Blinder Co. appear to still be on the game as well:

I like the LED that the Blinder has that tells you when the unit is on or jamming but I also like the novelty that the LI/Escort unit tells you the make and model of the Laser that the LEO is operating. So for me it's a coin toss between these 2 offerings and I have no experience with other units on the market. I am comfortable recommending either of these units and your choice will depend upon your needs.
Moving on, I bought a beautiful C4S from a member here in this forum and the day after I got it home I installed a jammer per the following:
Initially I removed a front trim panel in the frunk which exposed what appeared to be an ideal pass-through where the frunk latch wiring passes but I soon realized that would be a dead end at the fuel cell:
I looked at other options and one was in the front air inlets. Admittedly the inlets on the C4S is a little different than a 2 wheel drive 996 but the same basic premise should apply to other 996's.
Looking up through the inlets I could see light very clearly and appeared to be a straight shot up and into the headlight bucket trim gasket. Looking for a strong item to use to fish the wires I used an arrow (which is where the faint of heart thing comes into play). Using the arrow as a guide I pulled the laser head wires into the area of the frunk on the outside of the frunk cavity.
I pulled up the frunk seal and realized there was a small recess under the seal which would provide sufficient space on each side of the seal for the wires to sit flush under the seal:
Repeat the same process for the opposite side of the car.
Once there it is an easy drop into the cavity where the battery is located and behind the battery was a very convenient gasket to pass the wires into the cockpit:
From there just plug the wires into the "brain box" of the jammer, pull power from the fuse box and install the switch.
This was by far the easiest jammer install that I have done. I cut the mounting tabs off the sides of the transceivers and used two-sided tape to fasten the heads to the inlet fins:
Ideally the heads should be closer to center but since I had the car for a day so I wasn't eager to cut into the bodywork. I feel that the placement will be acceptable since I do not run a front plate and typically in the absence of that wonderful reflective surface a LEO laser operator will then try to get a reflected shot off the headlight assemblies since that's pretty much tailor made for concentrating a beam and returning it. At any rate while "painting" the frontal area of the vehicle I believe the heads will be touched by a laser at some point and have the opportunity to return fire. The heads are level and perpendicular to the center lines and shoulders so I'm comfortable there.
