Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Check the muffler tips, they have a nut under them to adjust part of the positioning of the tip, it fixed a similar issue I had (also you can try to push up on the tip with your shoe, to see if the sound changes..)

I just replaced my Bosch reman alternator after only three years and <10K miles because I could hear bearing noise.

if stlll there remove the belt and run the engine briefly to access the noise...turn each accessory and roller by hand to feel for roughness...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Porsche friends.
I have a super high pitched tinny noise almost like a tiny bell sound. It was intermittent but now it's constant. coming from my driver side engine bay somewhere below the alternator. I have a 2004 911 cabriolet with 135+ miles. Any help please. I do have a video but can't unload it.

Its always tough to diagnose this stuff on a forum. But my wag would be your SAI.
These things make all kinds of noises from a squeeling to screeching to a vacuum cleaner sound. I even had a high pitched buzz saw sound come from mine 3 years ago on a cold start-up day. Sounds goes away after the cats have warmed up. The SAI is not a catastrophic failure part. Just a worn bearing.
Sure, it could be something else, so listen to what the other guys have to say.
I hear it ....
Sounds like either your steering pump or one of the 6 deep grove ball bearings in the alternator/water pump ,a/c compressor,or the belt pulley rollers
check the fluid in the steering pump and top up

Agree with PT3. Sounds like a bearing. Get yourself a mechanics stethoscope and touch it to the body of the alternator and the bolts of the idler pulleys to narrow it down. If this doesn't track it down, you will need to get underneath to listen to the water pump.
