Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hoping someone with some knowledge of the 996.1 can help me identify this wire that may or may not be draining the battery. So it is the red and black wire going off this connector: Connector circled and wire looks to be attached to the yellow black wire off of this plug. The wire itself goes through into the frunk area behind the carpet Behind the carpet it looks like it connects to this big connector pictured here. Have highlighted in yellow the path of the wire: This is the path that I can identify for the wire. Passenger side of the frunk behind the carpet. Could this be some kind of aftermarket alarm or something else? I doubt the factory would do such a job connecting wires. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Check toir option codes. My guess is that is a Litronic headlight modual. Im guessing your car will show standard lights but has litronics installed? A ml1 car should have the modual under the dash if it was factory. https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Porsche-996-997-Carrera/85-ELEC-Installing_Litronic_Headlamps/85-ELEC-Installing_Litronic_Headlamps.htm?srsltid=AfmBOoquBJzBqEL1HkOBaEWJPCfzXC 26_uwMUKw6PwVfSe6wcjjQMLPX

Well when u swap an entire mk2 gt3 into a mk1 chassis (incliding the harness) u learn things . I had to integrate the wiring in the mk1 frunk so i spent a lot of time staring at the harness and plugs.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
