Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I discovered this crack in one of my rear tires while working on my suspension, think it'll be covered under warranty? The way it's split I'm thinking it looks more like a defect in the tire than road damage? The model is Bridgestone Potenza S02A 285/30ZR18 N3, purchased in January and only put a few thousand miles on them. Thanks! Chris

POST 2Original post

Tread area hit something hard and split open...hard enough the sidewall cracked. Must have been a pretty hard impact. Anyway, still should be covered under a road damage warranty.

POST 3Original post

That is not a factory warranty claim. That is either caused by road debris or impact damage like a pot hole. Bridgestone or whomever you purchased the tire from will not cover this under the manufacturers warranty. However if you purchased Road Hazard warranty which most tire retailers offer, that would cover the repair.

POST 4Original post

Worth a try but not likely to succeed. I had a problem many years ago where the sidewalls on two fairly new tires were split. The insurance company said it was a manufacturing defect. The tire company said it was vandalism. Net result: I was out two tires.

POST 5Original post

Where did you buy the tires from? They might b able to help. e I only buy from Costco. No more TireRack. Costco is great when it comes to issues like these.

POST 6Original post

That's impact damage. Road hazard protection should cover that. Ours would.

POST 7Original post

N3? What is the date code? That was a pretty good hit. Make sure they check the rim for run out.

All that line on the sidewall is is mold flash.
