Instead of going this route, I thought there might be an option to replace the steel panel with a glass one to dress up the car a bit.

Hi, I'm new to the world of rennlist having just purchased a well loved 2002 996. The previous owner took care of a LOT of the standard 996 headaches, but the sunroof headliner just isn't looking too great these days. I'd thought about reupholstering it, but figured that would lead to doing the entire headliner to keep things matching. Instead of going this route, I thought there might be an option to replace the steel panel with a glass one to dress up the car a bit. Does anyone here know if there's an aftermarket option for this? Something that "bolts right in"?

Do a search on norspec dismantling...they have sunroofs i am sure .... Unless glass was a factory option not sure you will find glass but worth a try
